The best and most powerful hoover, I have ever brought, and so glad, that I did. Been eyeing it up for quite awhile now, then got it in the black Friday sale straight away, and so glad that I did. It's the best and deepest cleaning hoover, into the carpet I have ever had, so picks up much more dirt and dust, than any other hoover does.

Flexible and powerful

Really flexible -- I like the ability to remove the top, add attachments directly to it, and use it as a handheld vacuum for stairs. Good cleaning power. Easy to empty. Comes with decent instructions!

Never seen my carpets look so clean

I don't often write reviews but was left astounded by the results of my new Shark HZ4000UKT. I usually buy a basic bagged floor cleaner but was fed up with lint/fibres being left behind in the carpets despite there being no issues with suction power nor bag capacity. After much whittling down I was left with a few Hoovers and Sharks to choose from, but went for the Shark due to the Duo head design and long mains cable for constant power. In the store I "deadlifted" the stick vacuum because I knew it would be heavier than moving just a hose, and was concerned about the effort moving a whole cleaner around, but it had to be done, and when powering on the cleaner to check it worked I knew straight away it was the right choice from its power. Using the cleaner next day was a breeze as it almost drives itself over the carpet and sometimes felt like it was running away to hunt down dust and dirt. It changes your cleaning style to what I equate to mowing a lawn in controlled back and forth sweeps, rather than frantic swinging the cleaner all over, or pressing hard against the floor to pick up stubborn lint/fibres and expelling energy unnecessarily. Also like a hover mower, the cleaner head seems to "float" meaning there is minimal finger tip effort needed to move the cleaner other than balancing the motor end in the hand. The pickup is incredible, and the pipe can almost go dead flat to the floor to reach under places, and swivels around furniture nicely compared to stubborn hosed heads. Much less effort needed with better results. It was a nice touch that all the packaging is cardboard and paper, which went straight into the recycling bin. No fibres or debris to pick out from the head brushes after cleaning neither. Criticisms I found in reviews when choosing were it wasn't self-standing, bin capacity, height and cable stiffness. Yes it doesn't stand up on its own due to weight of the motor section but can be easily propped up with no fear of sliding over due to the floor head, or with a push of a button the motor section can tilt over to be self standing, or another button quickly removes the motor section if this is an issue. I was completely astonished at the amount of dust and debris in the collection bin after a few rooms, especially after using the bagged cleaner the day before, and I don't have pets, so I'm not surprised there's been complaints about having to keep emptying the bin. To me that is a testament to how powerful the cleaner is and if I had that amount of lifting performance on my bagged floor cleaner, I'd be complaining about frequently changing the bag too. Emptying is very easy and I only had to do this a couple of times. I didn't notice the height of the stick in use, and I'm short, so not sure what the issue is there. The cable is stiffer than cleaners I've used where the cord retracts back into the vacuum, but not an issue, and at 10m it is unnoticeable during cleaning. If anything it made it easier for me to bundle the cable back up again and secure with the supplied tie wrap. With this new-found intrigue I thought I'd pull back the bed sheet to try as a handheld with the turbo tool on the mattress, which to the naked eye looked clean and spotless. I'd emptied and tapped on the collection bin beforehand to see what would get picked up and as an asthmatic, I was alarmed but also happy that the cleaner removed a sizeable amount of dust, shown in a bowl, from just one half of one side of a king-size mattress. I stripped the bed completely soon after for a further thorough vacuum. A game changer and has genuinely made vacuuming enjoyable rather than a chore.

The cord lets it down

Great little cleaner and the detect for the floor surface is brilliant. But, like others have said, the cord is awful! Really stiff and totally inflexible. Hard to wind up and makes cleaning awkward. Why the designers have decided to add a cheap cord is ridiculous.

Great machine well recommended

I bought a vax cordless earlier in the year and was fed up with its inability to suck up larger things and parts forever breaking . I thought I may get another cordless but decided on this beastie. All I can say is wow I’m impressed. It’s easy to use and practically drags itself along on some surfaces and cat litter be gone! The filter and everything is easy to keep clean and I love to use it. There are only two negatives the small dust-bin and the cable is stiff to wind up but it’s a small price to pay for something that actually does what it is meant to. I have called him Bruce after the nickname given to the shark in Jaws by the film crew and have adorned him with an appropriate sticker ! I’m a 60 year old child at heart!

Light weight , fast delivery

I have a heart condition with a icd fitted , so needed something light weight but powerful. Decided on a corded shark stick only had it a day and delivery was so fast cant wait to keep ontop of the house now i can hoover as i seem to of find a hoover i can use. Only down side is emptying the dirty/hair a lot so carry a bag around with me, and the wire isnt very fexiable but that may change with uses
