The links are approximately 2mm wide with a diameter of 4mm. It does look thicker though, I have a locket on mine.

Yes it should do providing it will fit over the clasp, I have a locket on mine. It’s a lovely chain.

As long as the pendant isn't too heavy and can fit over the clasp at the end of the chain, there should be no reason why you cannot slide a pendant on to this chain.
