I bought this as a substitute to replace an old dryer when I couldn't find an original online. "It does what it says oin the tin" as the saying goes! however I have very fine hair so was a bit disappointed with the results

The cool button on the Air Styler acts as a mechanical switch to activate the "Cool Shot" function. Instead of needing to hold it down the entire time you use it, the button is designed to lock into place.
• To turn the cool shot ON: Firmly press the cool shot button down and slide it forward. This locks the styler into a continuous cool airflow mode without blasting heat.
• To turn the cool shot OFF: Slide the button back to its original position to return the unit to your standard heat settings.

Thanks for your query about the Remington Coconut Smooth Hot Air Styler AS5901.
This would depend on what you mean by short. It won’t do much or anything for something like a crew cut of course as it would not be possible. But, assuming you’re not meaning this short of course, yes it could be used with short hair, e.g. a bob. It would still be the case though that, the shorter the hair, the less you’d be able to wrap it round the brushes and this may limit the amount of curl and the achievable range of resulting styles.
