A great table for the price
Simple design, good size and solid enough but just don’t love it. The legs are solid oak but the top is veneer and looks like veneer. And is much lighter than expected. But we just moved and needed a table for Christmas and it was a good price and arrived quickly so have put an oilcloth on it and will keep and repurpose at a later date. 4 stars because is really very good value.

Problem with the varnish
Nice solid table in the right size for us. Unfortunately there is a problem with the varnish of the veneer. We did promptly get a replacement table from Argos but unfortunately it has an even worse problem with the varnish. Decided to keep the table because we need one urgently but will have to re-varnish. I assume this explains the low price for the otherwise well made table.

Solid table with good legroom
This table will seat six people comfortably and eight people when extended. The table legs being in the four corners rather than further in is very helpful for good legroom under the table. There is less chance of banging a knee on a table leg - a feature of our former table! The extra leaf is on the side rather than the middle, which looks asymmetric. But a tablecloth should cover that up well. My husband and son put the table together and say that the instructions were straightforward and easy to follow.

Lovely dining table
Table is lovely and really good size, conveniently extendable. Unfortunately arrived damaged on the top...I have however rung Argos customer services and was really happy with their help, was offered a discount should we decide to keep the table. We have decided to keep it at the end as been without a table for quite a few weeks...and overall we are very happy and would certainly purchase and recommend Argos services.

Each leg on the Habitat Garcia Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table - Oak is 52mm wide giving an available width between the legs of 1496mm when not extended and 1896mm when extended. To fit three chairs side by side unextended, there is just under 500mm space for each chair and correspondingly for four chairs side by side with the table extended, there will be 474mm of space for each chair.
Depending on the width of chair used it may be more comfortable to have a chair at either end of the table leaving ample room for two or three chairs side by side.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Garcia Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table - Oak: Length is 200cm when extended. Yes, the extension piece stored within the table itself, under the table top.

"It is 682mm from underneath of the table to floor.
If including felt pad it is 684mm."

I can advise the following for the Garcia Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table - Oak:
This is flat packed so the legs are already off when purchased, however constant removal of the legs may cause them to become loose over time.

Our suppliers recommend to only clean using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. When cleaning using a dry cloth furniture polish is not recommended.
