Bought this McGregor lawnmower to replace my old Flymo 1200w mower, unpacked the box, and no polystyrene packaging, only cardboard packaging (a good start). It took about 20 mins to assemble and was quite sturdy when fitted together I set the wheels for the lowest cut as there is a choice of 3 settings and the lowest setting gives a well-cut lawn effect. the motor in this McGregor is the same as the Flymo, a standard 1200w as found on most lawnmowers, the only downside I found was the grass clogs up around the blade as the width of this McGregor mower is only 31cm resulting in limited space within the 31cm casing for loose grass cuttings, resulting in frequent emptying of the grass box, other than that hoping it will last me a few years, seems a good piece of kit - fingers crossed.

A more powerful replacement for my previous mower.
I needed a replacement for my previous mower - a Challenge model bought from Argos around 4 years ago - this mower had a more powerful motor (1200W compared to 1000W) and was slightly heavier, other than that pretty much identical to previous. I does the job for the small lawns in our garden and for the several other people's lawns that I mow so if it lasts another 4 years I'll be happy.

Bargain Price and cuts well.
I just needed a cheap lawn mower to get the job done, and this is perfect. It works great. It's cheap. Who can complain? Yes, taking the wheels off to change heights are annoying, but if you're just someone who wants to keep on top of their grass, then put the wheels on the middle setting and you never have to move them again. It's worth the price. It is noisy but who cares honestly. It cuts grass. Job done. I'm very happy.

If the spring is loose in the box, this is incorrect. Call the McGregor product helpline (0345 605 2063) for guidance on reassembling.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for McGregor 31cm Electric Corded Rotary Lawnmower - 1200W.
We recommend cutting no more than 1/3 of your grass's length. For this mower we would recommend cutting grass no longer than 90mm / 9cm.
Excessively long grass can be cut with a grass cutter first.
Mowing excessively long grass will affect the performance of the mower and may cause damage to the belt or the motor.
