The best yet!
The best yet !! I have built a couple of the older sets of the 1:8 cars and have only just started this one but I am blow away by the detail , complexity and engineering of the model, throughly enjoying the build. Word of warning this is not for the faint hearted and requires a great deal of concentration but it's done in such a way that if you do make a mistake it becomes obvious fairly soon so you don't have to do a complete dismantle to fix the error. Overwhelming recommend to fans that want a challenge. Even better when you can get it at a good price !

I got there in the end!!
As a recent convert to Lego as a 65 year old hobbysist i finally decided to tackle one of the largest sets having practiced on smaller Technic sets and some Creator/Icon sets. This is another level in complexity of build. The gearbox alone is a master and quite amazingly connected to a paddle gear changer mounted alongside the steering wheel. I even shocked myself, it worked. I was certain i would have done something wrong. That then lead to the gul wing doors, a whole bag of parts dedicated to each door alone. Quite incredible, and hats off to the Lego designers. This review wouldn't be complete by a mention to the designers of the box. The way it opens out to reveal the 3 inner boxes displaying the overhead view of the car is quite stunning and very much in keeping with a model of this complexity and cost. As a final note, sticker free, something that ought to be done in lower cost models. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an absorbing technical build.

Lego amazing McLaren P1
I bought the Lego McLaren P1 set after I had been gifted the Lego Technic Ford GT. It took me 8 days to build, which was amazing!.. I was feeling quite poorly at the time and this helped me with my recovery. I am going to buy loads more now from Argos to fill my time during the dark winter months..

Fantastic Build
I bought this a few weeks ago and despite building a few hours a day it is yet to be finished. It has been a challenging build but very rewarding. The attention to detail and the intricate nature of this set is phenomenal. It did come with a missing piece but lego customer support delivered a replacement within a week, hence the 4 stars. ak
