The LG W4X1085NWK washer dryer washes and dries laundry in one appliance, handling cottons, synthetics, delicate hand-wash fabrics, and wool. This freestanding model has an 8kg drum for washing and 5kg capacity for combined cycles, powered by a Direct Drive motor spinning up to 1400rpm for efficient water extraction. 6Motion technology moves the drum in multiple directions for tailored care across 10 programmes, while Steam technology reduces allergens. Worse than my old 15 Yr old LG model
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this machine with the confidence of having had a previous LG for 15 years. This machine supposedly can spin at 1400 rpm. IT DOESN'T. At best, I would estimate it spins at 1000 rpm max. I have had retailer engineers and LG engineers looking at it, the latter confirming that the sensors are too sensitive and think I'm only washing a small load. I wouldn't call two king size sheets plus pillow cases a small load. Very disappointed.

Quiet - brilliant, some areas to improve
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quiet - brilliant, some areas to improve. Firstly, I bought this washing machine as it needed to fit within a certain depth space and it does that brilliantly. I would’ve preferred a white door but that is an aesthetic choice and it appears that my preference is currently not in fashion as most units seem to come with a black door. I bought this particular model because it has the direct drive motor so will hopefully be quieter and also more reliable and so far it is very quiet compared to I think most washing machines, however particularly compared to our previous washing machine which bearing had failed so sounded like a jet taking off every time. I find its IQ sense helpful in weighing the load and adjusting the time accordingly and you are able to use all the different settings no matter the load even though some of them it says only up to 2 kilograms However, a bigger downside of the model is that the display does not tell you how long a wash will take on a number of the settings before you press start which can be very frustrating trying to choose the correct setting. it would in my view be preferable if there was an option, perhaps through the downloaded cycle to measure the weight in order to have this information available beforehand The downloaded cycle is also another area for improvement as it allows you to have one downloaded cycle in the downloaded cycle slot and sells this as a custom slot. However, it is not a custom slot as you can only use a certain preset settings through the LG app. Whilst this is easy to use and helpful it does mean that if you want to have a particular setting, you can’t always achieve this. For example, our previous washing machine had a setting that would do an hour wash and particular temperature and this was perfect for a lot of our loads that needed doing relatively quickly but also needed a decent wash. There is no available option to even reach close to this and know that you’ve reached it ahead of pressing the play button and hoping that you’ve selected the right setting. That said, I’m very happy with it

I didn't think I'd have any use for it's app or Wi-fi connectivity, but have actually found it will be useful being able to program and start the machine while away from home so it's already halfway though the wash when I get home - good for time saving!

Underwhelmed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had a cheaper washing machine that lasted for years and was happy with , I went with lg this time around because of being a big brand name unfortunately this washing machine has left me underwhelmed firstly you can’t silence the chimes why ? There is no need as a night shift worker this just adds to the chance of being woken up when a wash is on , next when a programme is selected on the actual washer my old machine would show temperate spin speed and duration this machine don’t until you start using the selected mode it comes up after not sure why so at the moment having to play with settings to see what is what . The motor and drum very quiet after coming from a belt driven machine , just the little things this machine is missing and not sure why ! Regret my choice don’t make The same mistake
