About this product
A metal gate that fits where you need it. This extending safety gate adjusts to openings from 62.5 to 106.8cm, so it'll suit doorways, hallways or the top of the stairs. The double locking mechanism opens with one hand (handy when you're carrying a wriggling toddler), and there's no trip bar at the base. That makes it safer for stair landings where a low bar could catch your foot. When it's not needed, the quick release fittings let you lift it off without unscrewing anything.
The screw fit installation keeps it firmly in place once mounted. You can set it to swing both ways for hallways or fix it to open one direction with the included stop pins (ideal for stairs where you don't want it swinging over the drop). The double locking system means little hands can't push it open, but adults can release it one-handed. At 72.5cm tall, it's high enough to stop climbers. The wide walk-through section gives proper clearance without squeezing through sideways. Quick release fittings let you remove the gate and store it when visitors come or you need the space back.

Great product - does what it says
Really good product. Would have given it 5 stars if the little lock mechanism was a little simpler. It is straight forward but as all mums know, our hands are always full and I feel like I need both hands free to open it, so a simpler mechanism where I could easily open it with one hand would be better. This being said, my husband manages to open it with one hand lol

good one but can be much better
the gate seems to be safe enough, I'd say good materials, and not worried about the children figuring out soon how to open it. the installation is a bit funny but can be done - the screws are ridiculously short though, maybe good enough for oak wood, that's it. once installed, you will find out that you are lifting the whole gate and its weight, and that it's not easy at all unless you have a silicone spray.

Needs to be supplied with longer screws
The the main fault was that the screws supplied could have been longer. After about two months of use, while opening the gate, one of the screws attached to the wall came loose and the gate broke off from the wall. The gate is positioned at the top of the stairs, so luckily it happened with an adult and did not cause any injury to my little one. Since replacing the screws with longer ones, the gate has been working well.

The distance between the wall and the BabyDan Multidan metal extending safety gate must be a maximum of 5.8 mm.
If this distance cannot be maintained at the top of the safety gate, the customer can mount a block or thin board on the wall as compensation.

When fitting the gate to the space it is intended for you slide the centre to the width required and there are holes and screws provided to hold this in place.
