Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Winchester Coffee Table does require the shelf to be attached as per the instructions. The structural integrity of the item will be affected without the shelf.

The top of the table is made from E1 chipboard which gives it a decorative laminate surface. It would therefore be difficult to paint.

The distance from the top of the shelf panel to the underside of the top is 337mm.
The distance between the top of the shelf and the bottom edge of the rails is 227mm.
