Value-for-Money Tapo Outdoor Solar Powered Camera
Bought this a couple of months ago and installed and set it up it with ease. Pros: Excellent image quality and wide angle view. Maintains its charge very well from its solar panel despite short daylight and lack of sunny weather - so far never dropped below 98%. Good solid build quality - nice product. Built in light is surprisingly effective. Good easy set-up Wi-Fi connection. Cons: Slow to start recording movement or people, i.e., misses the first few seconds after initially being triggered. Very short clip length - typically only 10 to 15 seconds. Overall good value for money but doesn't quite provide fully adequate security coverage hence I can only give it 4 stars.

Our supplier has advised that the Tapo C410 KIT 2K Solar Powered Outdoor Security Camera Kit does not specifically support pet detection. However, it does feature motion detection. This means that if a small animal moves within the camera's field of view, it will be detected.

No, the Tapo C410 KIT 2K Solar Powered Outdoor Security Camera Kit does not work on a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. It is designed to connect exclusively to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
The camera itself does not support the 5 GHz frequency band for its connection to the router. However, you can still view the camera feed remotely on your phone using your mobile data, including 5G mobile data, when you are away from home.

The Tapo C410 KIT 2K Solar Powered Outdoor Security Camera does require an internet connection for remote viewing and notifications, but you have two options:
Wi-Fi at the camera location: The camera connects to your home Wi-Fi for live streaming, motion alerts, and cloud features.
Mobile data on your phone: You can view the camera feed and recordings through the Tapo app using your mobile data when you’re away from home. The app works over 4G/5G just like any other internet-based service.
So, you don’t need to be on Wi-Fi on your phone—mobile data works fine. The key is that the camera itself must be connected to Wi-Fi at its installed location (it doesn’t have a SIM card for cellular connectivity).
