Great cameras
These Tapo cameras are very well made and easy to connect to. I have another one from Tapo very similar to this model and have not had a single issue with either. The images are very clear .would recommend any Tapo unit.

Great picture, audio & kit. Poor notifications
Purchased 2 weeks ago. Well packaged & details thought through, even templates for drill holes & plugs for the screw holes. Picture is great as is sound quality, battery still charged at 100%. Night vision is good. Motion detection is reasonable & view angle covers the garden well. Make sure you have sufficient internet signal to the camera when deciding where to place this (the app does give you feedback on signal strength). Drawback: I bought this to alert me to neighbourhood cats & thought the alarm might deter them (it doesn't). The most annoying thing is there is rarely any notification of an alarm to my phone despite the app being set & permissions granted. The first I know is when I go into the app & see the recording. It's infuriating. Also the privacy setting is glitchy & switches on & off without prompting. Disappointing for an otherwise excellent well thought out product.

The supplier has advised for the Tapo C410 KIT 2K Solar Powered Outdoor Security Camera Kit: The Tapo C410 supports local MicroSD card storage (up to 512GB). Like other Tapo cameras, it supports loop recording, which means that when the SD card is full, the camera will automatically overwrite the oldest recordings with new footage. You do not need to physically remove the card or manually delete old files for recording to continue.
You can typically manage or confirm this setting through the Tapo app under your camera's SD card settings.
How to enable Loop Recording on your Tapo C410:
1. Open the Tapo app and go to your camera's Device Settings (tap the gear icon).
2. Navigate to Storage & Recording > microSD Card.
3. Toggle on Loop Recording.
Once enabled, the camera will automatically overwrite the oldest recorded videos whenever the SD card becomes full, ensuring continuous recording without any manual intervention.

The Tapo C460 KIT is a battery-powered camera (equipped with a 10,000 mAh built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a solar panel). Because of this, it is designed to record based on motion detection rather than continuously. Continuous recording would drain the battery very quickly, making it impractical for a wire-free, battery-powered device.
The camera supports advanced AI-based motion detection, including:
• Motion Detection
• Person Detection
• Pet Detection
• Vehicle Detection
When motion is detected, the camera will trigger recording and send notifications to your Tapo app. You can also set up Activity Zones to focus detection on specific areas and reduce false alerts.
Recorded clips can be stored on a microSD card (up to 512GB) inserted directly into the camera, or via Tapo Care cloud storage (subscription required).

The camera does not use your broadband connection itself as a storage location. To record and save footage, the Tapo C410 requires a supported storage method, such as:
A microSD card installed in the camera
Tapo Care cloud storage subscription
If you do not wish to purchase a microSD card, you may consider subscribing to Tapo Care, which allows recordings to be stored securely in the cloud and accessed through the Tapo app.

Yes, you can use SD card for local recording.
Open the Tapo app and tap your camera or doorbell device card on the Home page to enter the Live View. Tap the gear icon in the top right corner to open Device Settings. Tap Storage & Recording, then enable Local Recording.
To view and play back recordings from your Tapo camera or doorbell, go to the Live View page and tap Playback & Download. On the Playback page, tap the SD card icon and select a date.
You can also insert SD card into PC to check.
