Very poor quality, crease in shade material and uneven thickness giving variable light brightness, no issues with returning the items, Argos staff professional as always

Stops my baby from staring at the bare bulbs, does the job well and diffuses light across the room. Easy to install.

I like the soft light from an uplighter shade, so I've had several of these lampshades from Argos in the past, and similar ones from other sources. I can no longer find them from any other source, but the current Argos Home ones often have dents or marks in the shade which spoil the appearance, as they are very visible when the light is on. For my recent purchase, both shades had visible dents (although this wasn't immediately obvious when I collected the package) and one had a small manufacturing flaw in the lining which shows through when the light is on. I've learned to be very careful handling these because they dent very easily, so I don't think the dents occurred after I collected them. I tried using a hairdryer on the worst dents to soften the plastic lining and I think it helped a bit, but I couldn't make them go away completely. When they are OK, they are very good value for money, but it's a bit of a lottery.

For the price they're fine. The slightest crinkle shows up a lot so you got to make sure they don't get dented before putting up. But they do a good job of stopping the light from shining downwards too brightly, and if you have sensitive eyes they can help in this way.

Question from Shaz

Hello Shaz,
The Argos Home Set of 2 Cream Conical Pendant Shades - 40cm is compatible with a maximum of 60W Bayonet cap or small Edison screw GLS Bulb.
Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Set of 2 Fabric Uplighter Shades does not include the cord set so it's suitable for SES/BC with max.60W incandescent light bulb.
Yes! A very visible seam about three quarters of an inch wide. Spoils it. Dont know how Argos-man can say otherwise. I would add that impossible to hang straight. Rubbish. But what do you expect for a shade costing six quid? When will I ever learn that you get what you pay for..
