I bought these lights for my kitchen that we recently renovated. They look lovely and give out plenty of light. The dimmable feature is highly useful for us. I would certainly recommend these reasonably priced lights; the only caveat is that they went on (after Christmas) sale after I purchased them at a full price!

The supplier has advised the following for the Magnum 6 Light Ceiling Plate - Slate Effect:
"The maximum wattage per bulb for this light is 4W LED, so a 50W bulb would not be suitable. I assume the customer means they have a low wattage bulb that is equivalent to an old 50W bulb, in which case as long as it is actually a maximum of 4W that would be fine. We have not tested it with colour changing bulbs but I see no reason why they would not be compatible."

Products such as the Home Magnum 6 Light Ceiling Plate - Slate Effect do not carry an energy rating, however the use of 4Watt LED GU10 bulbs will mean a very low energy usage.

Hi. As with any light, the energy used is dependent on the size of bulb used times 6.
STD GU10 50watt X 6 = 300watts
LED GU10 5 watt X 6 = 30watts
It really is that simple. 6 led bulbs in this unit give out a great light with very little shadowing.
I’ve had one of these in the kitchen for three years and it’s still the best light I’ve used in there. It can be fiddly to fit, so search for my older reviews on this unit before you buy so you know what to expect.
The maximum wattage is 4W which may be why you are having a problem. I purchased some 4W GU10 LED daylight white bulbs made by Ascher and they are great. I did try other bulbs which produced a rather yellow light which were not appropriate for what I needed. Maybe worth a look for you.

Hi Nick. I have one of these lights central in a twelve feet square kitchen and the light covers all areas. If you need a strong light in an area you are standing in front of then two units would be better. The light diffuses very evenly and I have been impressed with this light. As I’ve answered before in other questions, I would recommend better fixings and extend the ceiling cable by about 8” to allow easier fitting. Two people make it easier to fit the unit for the final fitting as it’s difficult to hold in place and fit the screws. Hope that helps.
Depends on length of old tube ie if 8 foot I would say 2 more than sufficient. The bulbs give out a good spread of light and bright enough to illuminate most areas. I had replaced a 6 foot tube in kitchen with one of these and the kitchen is much brighter with no real dark areas.
We replaced a 5 foot fluorescent light with one of these and there is far more light given out, only one required for a standard sized kitchen
