Good toaster only used a couple of times so far & seems ok but seems to brown slightly darker on one side but ok 👍 just wish you could lift the levers up mid way to check on toast but you can’t 😬

Delongi are my go to toasters I had the older design pretty much the same, in white had it for years, no problems what so ever, only upgraded to it discolouring, these toasters are amazing pretty much beats all other brands hands down, I won’t use anything else, iv also bourght matching kettle

The toaster has to be switched on for the bread to stay down.

I know this sounds a bit stupid but the only way my toaster wont stay down is if the switch at the plug socket is on off or try emptying the trays at the bottom just in case a big piece of bread is stuck in it or try pressing the levers in that once worked for me at work hope this helps as I know how annoying it is

You can certainly lift the bread up during toasting however this would be a manual operation not automatic.
