Good Product
This item performs very well and is highly suitable for everyday use. It heats up quickly, allowing for efficient preparation. However, the top surface becomes extremely hot during operation, so caution is required; the black handle is the only part safe to touch while in use. Very disappointing for a Breville appliance
I had to return this item to Argos, as the temperature was excessively high & there was no way of controlling it, except to switch it off, as soon as everything started burning, after a very short space of time. The edges of the toast were charred black within a minute & the centre of the sandwich was not properly cooked. There are issues too with the design, as the lower compartment is not deep enough & when you tried to push the lid down on the bread, it would not close properly. The casing was extremely hot & burnt your fingers. When 2 slices of average thickness bread were placed in the sandwich press, it didn't close properly. I doubt it would have taken a much thicker panini.

Hi, the VST025 is great for making toasted sandwiches with non-stick plates for easy cleaning. However, it does not have grill plates.
Breville VST025 does not feature a dedicated On/Off switch.

Yes, the plates on the Breville VST025 can be cleaned with a damp, soapy cloth and then wiped over with a clean damp cloth to remove any residue. Please ensure the appliance is switched off, unplugged, and completely cooled before cleaning

Thank you for your question about the Breville VST025. The heated plates on this model are fixed, flat plates and are not interchangeable. The ridged grill marks you may have seen in some of our images relate to other models in our range that feature non-stick ridged plates designed to create that effect. If you are specifically looking for ridged plates to achieve grill lines, you may wish to consider Breville VST098, which makes deliciously deep-filled toasties, fluffy waffles and crisp paninis.

Hi there,
I can confirm the Breville VST025 Sandwich & Panini Press does not have any buttons on the top. It has a light indicator to show when the power is on and a green light to show when it has reached temperature. It is turned on and off by the mains switch only. The top of the press can get hot when in use so we recommend only using the handle to touch when in use.
