amazing!
I bought the train for myself to complete the lego city diorama I've been constructing for some time. The train is very easy to put together, the hub, the remote controller as well as the app connect without any issues, I enjoy the app immensely as it allows to change the weather conditions, features different sounds etc. If I were to find anything negative about the set, it would be the minuscule platform, I will introduce my own improvements and turn it into a proper one though:-) Totally recommended! I have allowed my children to play with the train, naturally!

Great train but needs extra track
Bought this as a joint present for my husband and young son. They loved building it together and the controls are so simple my son can easily drive it even though he's only 5. I bought the extra track box too and I would say that was necessary to get any decent play

While it can be placed on the track and pushed manually, just like any non-motorized LEGO vehicle, it’s advisable to use the motor and batteries to fully enjoy the train’s automatic movement. With the motor powered, the train will move on its own, providing a more immersive and dynamic play experience.
Without the motor running, you would need to push the train along the tracks manually.

The remote runs on 4x AAA batteries and the battery hub needs 6x AAA batteries.
