It does the job, however it could be better
It is equipment for amateur home usage occasionally only. The barbell and dumbbells... What can I say? Yyyy... Yes, they are black... However the paint coating is extremely poor. Every change of weight cause chipping the paint off causing black mess on the floor. So far I can't complain about paint coating of weight. Lock bolts sometimes get a bit loose, but its not an issue. Apart from that, nice and heavy equipment, doesn't take a lot of space at home when disassembled and nicely stacked in the corner, lot better than vinyl filled with concrete. Argos package of barbell was very poor, sides secured only with packaging tape caused chip the paint coating off. However I can't complain a lot. It does the job which it was made for, and I did not pay for that even £1 as I paid at Argos with loyalty points.

Great set, especially for the price. Weights come as small as 1.25kg so fantastic for starting as a beginner with no muscle like me! Not tried this myself but I read that the dumbbells and barbell are compatible with third party weights so you can go above 50kg, which is a great feature too.

The answer above is incorrect. My order came in 3 boxes - a tube for the bar, and 2 boxes for the weights and dumbells.

From the information we have available, I can advise the reason this Opti 50KG Cast Iron Barbell Dumbbell Set is advertise as 50kg is you have to include the weight of the bar which is 5.6kg with the weight plates.

Just ensure that the spring collars or clips you choose fit the diameter of the barbell and provide a secure hold to keep the weights in place.

The answer is it was previously 1530mm with a capacity of 75kg, but it is now 1720mm long with a paltry capacity of just 50kg.
Despite the extra length, the length of the crew section is reduced and the grip part is spread further apart.
Despite what the seller says its actually about 172cm in width entirely.
