Great tool for all abilities with a few limitation
Hitting precise temperatures when cooking meat is paramount - and with technical knowledge of applied heat (searing techniques, oven temperature), resting, food safety and so on, the Meater is a great bit of kit, especially to train your touch as to how cooked meat should feel. The downsides for me are the diameter of the probe - it can leave a large hole when the meat is sliced after resting - and that it can’t be submerged in a liquid so no good for poaching etc.

Great thermometer
I brought this two weeks ago and have used it for every cook since. Reliable, easy to use and a very high heat resistance so it can be put in almost any cooking device

Meater
I’ve only used the Meater pro once so far but first impressions are it’s excellent joint came out just as I wanted it, it amazed me how the inner temperature still rose while it was resting.

The king of thermometers
Bought this as a christmas gift, which was opened immediately, app set up and dinner meat was cooked to perfection. The app was really easy to use the box it comes in is well made with the added bonus of a magnet to secure safely to the fridge.

Great meater
So glad I bought this, made a lovely roast topside bit of beef and it was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to lots more cooking with this meater very pleased 😀 Lots of great features, I like you can choose when to be alerted when it's nearly finished cooking, so you can get the vegetables on so it all finishes at the same time. And how long to rest the meat after cooking

Great meat thermometer
Hello Omer,
The supplier has advised the following for the Meater Pro Wireless Meat Thermometer.
The Meater Pro Wireless Meat Thermometer is designed to work in enclosed cooking environments like ovens, grills, and smokers. However, whether it will work effectively in a closed cast iron casserole pot depends on the following factors:
Material Interference - Cast iron is a dense and conductive material that can block or significantly reduce wireless signals. This means the probe's ability to transmit data to its receiver or app might be compromised if the pot is entirely enclosed.
Distance from the Base Station - The Meater Pro typically uses Bluetooth to communicate. While it has a "Repeater" mode through its charging dock to extend range, any signal blockage caused by the cast iron pot could reduce this range significantly.
Usage Recommendations - Some users have reported success when using it in partially covered pots or when placing the pot near the edge of their cooking device for better signal strength. If you're cooking in a cast iron casserole pot, consider placing the pot on a surface where the probe's end remains closer to an opening or exposed to minimize signal loss.
Conclusion: While the Meater Pro may work, its signal might be weakened or blocked entirely by the cast iron lid. For best results, try monitoring signal strength with a test run before committing to a recipe. If the signal is lost, you may need to lift the lid periodically to check temperatures.
Thank you for using Q&A.
