First try
I decided to try and make some Selsy biscuits. It's a wet biscuit mix and l used the flat beater on speed 2. It mixed it ok, but l did have to use a spatula a couple of times to mix the flour up from the bottom. I tried making a crumble topping too. This was excellent using the same flat beater and speed 2. Bread next. It's a very sturdy piece of kit. I looked at the reviews for all the attachments..most were alright but l don't think l will be buying any in the near future. Happy so far.

I cannot recommend this product enough. Let’s start with the design; such a great bit of kit for the kitchen, looks great, comes with 3 attachments which is fantastic for someone like me who is just starting out. The attachments are easily changed and so easy to clean! Now for the best bit; I made my first batch of cakes with my new Kitchenaid.. WOW!! The difference from when I have used a generic mixer to the Kitchenaid was night and day!! My sponge was light, fluffy and moist, the icing I made was also very light! I have baked for years but this was the first time I made something I was massively proud of!! The taste difference was insane and I used the same recipe I have used in the past but it actually looked and tasted better!!! Such a high quality product and worth every penny!!

Still Early Days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still early days but so far the mixer has not disappointed - previously I have used hand held mixer but this now makes the job much easier - going forward I want to experiment and make bread and would like the challenge of making pasta which I will need to buy the tiller etc….which fits on my machine. So far things are going well.

No is hasn't. Just use the first 2 lower gears . They are use on adding so you don't splash .

The only model number we have listed is 5KSM125BCU or 5KSM125.
The splatter guard with model number 5KN1PS will fit For 3 L, 4.3 L and 4.8 L Bowls, except 4.8 L Glass Bowl 5KSM5GB and Frosted Glass Bowl 5K5GBF
The 5KSM125 uses a 4.8 litre stainless steel bowl so it should be compatible with the splatter guard 5KN1PS

The care and cleaning (pg 12) instructions state:
Bowl, white flat beater and white spiral dough hook may be washed in an automatic dishwasher. Or, clean them thoroughly in hot sudsy water and rinse completely before drying. Wire whip, burnished spiral dough hook and burnished flat beater should be hand washed and dried immediately. Do not wash wire whip, burnished spiral dough hook and burnished flat beater in a dishwasher. Do not store beaters on shaft.
NOTE: Always be sure to unplug stand mixer before cleaning. Wipe stand mixer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use household/commercial cleaners. Do not immerse in water. Wipe off beater shaft frequently, removing any residue that may accumulate.

The dough hook K45DH** is made out of aluminium and anti-stick nylon coated. (Dishwasher safe).
The 185 KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer has stainless steel accessories.

You can make dough with this and it comes with a dough hook. It doesn't come with the required parts to allow it to make breadcrumbs though.
