Johnstone's Brilliant White Silk Emulsion is a high quality emulsion for walls and ceilings. It is a low odour, water based formulation that is quick drying. It dries to an attractive high sheen finish that is ideal for busy areas such as halls and stairways.

The supplier has advised the following for the Johnstone's Brilliant White Silk Emulsion 10L:
“ The Silk emulsion is a vinyl resin; this is the polymer used the make paint. Very different from acrylic resin polymers. Acrylic do tend to be much more hardwearing. ”

I would suggest using a primer first to remove some of the dark colour, however you can use this paint but it may need at least 2 coats.

Hi. It is not its intended use. But, you can still try it, especially if you have some spare. But try a concealed or hidden part first and see if it 'takes'. If you find you can achieve an adequate finish go ahead. You should use a wood paint, a 'gloss'. However, some chest of drawers are laminate topped fibre board and a great finish can still be difficult. You can get specialist grain paints to give woodgrain effect.
I wouldn’t advise it. It’s wall and ceiling paint. You’d be better off using Johnstone's Quick Dry Satin Paint For wood and metal. On sale on the Argos website. 417/9511

No, traditionally you use a gloss finish paint for wood or metal and depends if its interior or exterior furniture. The risk is that if you try this paint if will not take and stick to the surface material giving a good finish. It all depends on the surface preparation to get a good finish on wood always clean, and sand particularly fine finish before painting removing or evening out any imperfections before starting. Always read the label emulsions are just for walls and ceilings.
