About this product
The Karcher SC 3 EasyFix is a proper deep cleaner that uses nothing but tap water to tackle hard floors, ovens, hobs, taps and tiles. It heats up in just 30 seconds and keeps going with continuous steam from the 1 litre refillable tank. The 3.5 bar pressurised steam cuts through dirt and grime, and because it's trigger-activated, you control exactly when and where it releases. The 4m power cord and 2.2m hose give you plenty of reach without dragging the unit around.
The built-in descaling cartridge prevents limescale, reducing maintenance and improving performance. Weighing 4.4kg, it's solid yet manageable, with on-board accessory storage. Included are an EasyFix floor tool with microfibre cloth, round brush, hand nozzle with cloth, descaler cartridge, and two 0.5m extension tubes. Variable steam control adjusts intensity with overheat protection. Karcher recommends using only water, ideal for homes with kids or pets. It works on sealed wood, tile, laminate, carpets and rugs. The 40g per minute steam flow and continuous refill system let you top up without stopping.

Wouldn't recommend- steam cleaning isn't effective
It's ok - it does a decent job of loosening dirt, but steam cleaning looks and sounds much more effective than it actually is. It heats up quick and produces a lot of steam, but once the steam clears, the surface you're cleaning actually isn't that different than before... It doesn't remove the need to use cleaning products or to put your back into scrubbing things hard to get them properly clean. Regret buying it to be honest, given the price.

The mop was easy to put together. The plastic hose gets extremely hot which I don’t like, but otherwise it’s fairly effective at cleaning floor tiles.

Functional….but not a great lifetime.
I’ve had one before but it’s life expectancy, based on the previous one’s, won’t be that great. I bought it because of familiarity but the engineering is not robust at all, the particular issue being by the steam hose line which is not at all durable and had multiple fixes before finally becoming too degraded for continuous use. The connections between the pipes become very difficult to make after a while, I think the “O” rings become a bit stiff.

The Kärcher SC 3 EasyFix features a distinct design compared to traditional steam cleaners. You do not manually descale the boiler using liquid or powder. Instead, the machine uses an automatic descaling cartridge that purifies the water during use.
Because of this, the replacement interval is not determined by the number of times the machine is used, but rather by the volume of water passing through the system, which depends entirely on your local water hardness.
Here is how the machine manages this process:
Automatic Indicator Light
You do not need to manually track usage. The SC 3 has an internal system that monitors usage based on the water hardness level programmed during setup.
Once the cartridge has reached the end of its lifespan, a red descaling indicator light will illuminate on the display panel. When this occurs, simply remove the old cartridge, insert a new one, and hold down the RESET button for 4 seconds to restart the countdown.
General Lifespan Timeline
As a general guideline based on average household use (approximately once per week):
Hard water areas: the cartridge will typically need replacement every 3 to 6 months.
Soft water areas: the cartridge may last between 6 to 12 months.
Important Setup Tip: For the automatic tracking system to work accurately, the machine must be programmed to your local water hardness level during setup.
Please note that the machine is factory-set to Level 4 (Very Hard Water). If your water is soft or medium and this setting has not been adjusted, the red indicator light may appear much sooner than necessary.
You can adjust the setting by holding down the RESET button while turning the machine on, then cycling through the flashing light pulses to match your local water profile.
