Good if lots of sugar liquid in small pan
You need a lot of sugar and water in the pan to render the thermometer useful otherwise it just sits on top of the liquid and temperature doesn’t register . I used it for French meringue but needed to keep tilting the pan .

I bought this a month ago to make peanut brittle. All of the different levels are indicated such as hard crack and soft crack. Great for jamming too

Rubbish item
I have just used this item for the first time since purchase. It was placed in the dish washer for cleaning and all the gradation details have completely disappeared. It is now useless and a waste of money. The product is not fit for purpose.

Bought to know the water temperature between hand hot and boiling when heating on a hob. Working well for this. Has a commercial quality about it, functional more than stylish.
