The Tala jam / confectionary thermometer is ideal for jams and sugar. With clear markings, it reads from 40 degrees to 200 degrees celsius and fahrenheit 100 to 400 degrees. The markings on the thermometer help to determine the exacttemperature to achieve the setting point of sweets, jams and many other foods. The thermometer is made from high quality stainless steel with a strong plastic handle for ease of use.

Working well, bigger than it looks
Bought to know the water temperature between hand hot and boiling when heating on a hob. Working well for this. Has a commercial quality about it, functional more than stylish.

Does the job at An Affordable Price
Pros: - Affordable - Good for deep-frying as it can stand up in the pot on its own when put in the right position. Cons: - Overtime the temperature measurements do rub off. - It isn't ideal for measuring the temp of small amounts of liquid in shallow pots. - Overtime, the red alcohol in the glass part of the thermometer became faulty and made me no longer able to take readings.

Waste of time
I bought this to check the temperature making jam. The numbers came off and I don't think the thermometer works properly. Eventually the glass broke. I'm sorry I didn't buy a better one.

I can advise this thermometer is made for reading temps of 40c and above, so it is not suitable for use in a fridge or freezer.
