Budget-friendly 4-burner gas BBQ with side hob; easy to use and cooks well but assembly is often fiddly and time-consuming. Some quality issues include uneven heating, flimsy parts, and side burner problems.

Honest review
Bought as my first gas bbq, easy enough to build and light weight to move around. Seems to use mostly the back of the grill so had to rotate food from front to back. Made cooking a party of people a bit longer. But as a budget bbq it works and is simple to use.

Don't waste your money.
We bought this as a last minute purchase following the failure of our previous gas barbecue. It'smis-Aigist so obviously it's time to start to putting the Halloween and Christmas stuff out as no one is having barbecues any more. This was the only barbecue available within 20 miles of where we live without spending £400. It is self assembly so ensure you have at least an hour free to put it together. Once constructed, it don't look too bad however, when we started to cook, the problems really started. The warming shelf has no retaining clips or nuts so after opening and closing the lid several times, one side fell out of the lid and all the food on there fell off. Some landed on the grill but the rest fell on the floor. It's very hard to put it back into position when the metal is several hundred degrees centigrade On further investigation, upon closing the lid, the warming shelf actually rests very close to the main cooking grill. Anything that is thicker than a wafer, thin mint is crushed and ends up stuck to the bottom of the warming grill. It's almost as if they designed the main barbecue base then gave up on he lid and warming self. For the sake of a couple of starlock washers that would have cost pence, this barbecue is pretty useless for large parties unless you're only cooking bacon and haven't bothered to fit the warming shelf

Irritating and disappointing design
The griddle keeps falling in at the back and touching the burner shields because the ridges that support it are incredibly small. I didn't know this until I used it and given it was an emergency purchase I had to use it. I've since modified it with 2 bolts to stop this happening. Constant fat fires during use. Very small fat catch can: was full after 10 minutes of grilling burgers and started spilling over. Overall quality is mediochre. Not recommended.

Excellent delivery and well priced. Haven’t used the barbecue yet

Terrible BBQ
Terrible BBQ, I know it's a budget one, but the grill doesn't fit (looks like either a bad design or a damaged/bent base) and regularly falls forward which is super dangerous. The heat isn't good either and you have to have it closed to to get a decent enough heat to cook. Very disappointed and a waste of money.

Great family bbq
Really pleased with this. Easy enough to assemble, though some bits are a bit fiddly for bigger hands.Instructions aren’t the best, but my husband built this without any issue in under an hour. It felt a bit flimsy whilst building, but once built it’s absolutely fine and feels sturdy.. Lots of grilling space, and I love the burner at the side. Easy enough to get out to use, and is user friendly. I would have liked it to have a clip or something to clip the gas pipe out of the way properly when moving. Simply because the pipe is at the same side as the wheels and it’s tricky to keep it out of the way. Either that or a slightly longer pipe would be better. But that’s the only issue we have found. Really pleased with it and how well it cooks. Great family bbq and much less messy than a charcoal one. Would recommend this.

Hello Loulou,
The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home 4 Burner With Side Burner Gas BBQ:
Please insert the hook end of the venturi clip into the air hole of the side burner venturi (this should be a small rectangular hole). Next clip the other end (the larger hooked side) onto the side burner valve.

Hi Yogi,
Argos Home 4 Burner With Side Burner Gas BBQ 345/1663
On receipt of the product it will come for use with propane gas only. You can buy a gas regulator to change for using butane gas bottles.
Please note: It is important that it is changed properly and secured back tightly otherwise, gas can leak afterwards. For safety reasons, we would recommend that you ask professional person to change this for you.

Hello Haz.
Argos Home 4 Burner With Side Burner Gas BBQ:
The BBQ is designed to run on propane gas, which is exactly what patio gas is—propane in a green bottle, typically used for outdoor appliances.
For optimal performance, we suggest to use a 5-15kg gas bottle.
Thank you for using Q&A.
