About this product
The Philips AMF870 35 3-in-1 Air Purifier, Cooling Fan & Heater provides clean, comfortable air year-round. It purifies larger rooms, removing 99.97% of particles with NanoProtect HEPA technology, and switches between cooling airflow and rapid heating. Self-adapting AI monitors air quality and learns your habits to adjust performance while keeping noise and energy use low. On warm days, the fan delivers natural airflow with wide rotation. When chilly, PTC ceramic heating warms you quickly within seconds.
With 10 speed settings, you're always in control of your comfort, and it's quiet enough for bedrooms and living spaces. The electrostatic HEPA filter traps and attracts pollutants, cleaning up to twice as much air as traditional HEPA H13 filters with better energy efficiency. A CADR rating for smoke, pollen and dust ensures fast, thorough purification. Auto shut-off, a night light, and filter replacement reminders simplify use. The slim tower design fits neatly into any room. Running at powerful wattage when heating, it's backed by a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee and includes the filter.

For £400+ I expected something special. Not sure how the filtration work. The fan was no better than a basic £40 fan DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY

Great product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good product. It’s a little on the large side which is why I only gave it 4 stars but we have the space so it’s not a major issue. It’s very easy to set up and I like that you can use your phone to control it. The airflow is nice and it’s been brilliant to use during the heatwave. Not too noisey and you tend to forget it’s on after a while. In regards to the air filter , once connected to my phone I would get notifications about the air which I thought was a really cool feature. Overall, if I was looking to purchase a fan of this size I would look at air purifiers as I’m really happy with the product and all it has to offer.

Great 3 in 1 product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This looks great in my front room and I love that it can be used for both cooling and heating but also for just purifying when not needed for those. The setup of product was easy. The app was easy to use, the remote is a bit annoying as it has to be aim to the right spot, so would’ve been great to be able to select requirements directly on the product. The app is also good for showing information like air quality and allergy risks. The fan is powerful, and heats or cools very efficiently. We have used the fan that during a heat wave and it was so good, a visiting Friend asked if it used water at all as it was so cool. I also love that the osculation can be from none (so at med just at you) 350° (for the whole room) I think the noise level is okay and quieter than a bladed fan, but you can also put on sleep mode to make it quieter and have a dim display. I think this is a great fan (heating or cooling) and also love that it is a great air purifier too, giving us peace of mind of good air in the home.

Wow I’m obsessed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Philips Air Performer and I couldn’t be happier with it. The setup was quick and straightforward, and the clear display makes it very easy to operate. I particularly appreciate that it combines multiple functions in a single device, serving as a purifier, fan, and heater all in one. The filtration noticeably freshens the air, and the cooling function performs admirably. Despite its size, it’s surprisingly manageable to carry and move around the house. It has become an excellent addition to my home, and I find myself using it daily.

Great purchase !!!
I bought this product a month ago and since then it has been a fantastic addition to my house. An all in one appliance that provides efficient heating and cooling while delivering clean and fresh air.

Great, sleek design and works really well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fan is amazing! It’s been a god send during the recent spike in temperature and has kept me lovely and cool. I love the features it has, including the remote and the fact it has an app to tell you lots of info such as room temperature, air quality and if the filter needs cleaning or changing. It’s light weight considering its size and has a modern, sleek design. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a powerful, functional fan!

Great heater not true 3 in 1
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great for us filtering the air and warming. Unfortunately the fan is not effective at cooling. It’s only possible to control via the app or the remote which is very fiddly to work out.

Honestly surprised by this. Better than Dyson
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had it running constantly in my living room and office for the past few weeks. If you have been looking at those really expensive, sleek tower purifiers but were not sure if they are actually worth the money, here is my honest experience with it. When the box arrived, it was absolutely massive, which worried me at first. But once you actually get it out, it looks really sleek. It is a tall, bladeless tower that looks more like modern decor than a clunky home appliance. Because the base is relatively small, it tucks away nicely into a corner without taking up much floor space at all. Since we are in the middle of summer, I have only been using the air purifying and the cooling fan modes. I have pets and get terrible seasonal allergies, and this has genuinely helped. The display on the front shows your air quality in real-time. If I am cooking downstairs and things get a bit smoky, the light changes colour and the purifier instantly kicks into high gear to clear the air. My living room smells much fresher and I am definitely sneezing less. As for the fan, it produces a really nice, natural-feeling breeze. Just keep in mind that like all bladeless fans, it is not an air conditioner, so it is not going to freeze the room. But the oscillation is great for keeping the air moving so the room does not feel stuffy. I have not actually tested the heating function because of the hot weather. To be honest, I probably won't use it much anyway unless my central heating breaks down, but it is there if I ever need it. On sleep mode, the unit is virtually silent. I can barely hear it running at night. Even on the higher speeds, the sound is just a smooth white noise rather than an annoying hum or buzz. My main gripe is the Philips Air plus app. Setting it up was a headache because it strictly requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, and my phone kept trying to connect to my 5GHz band. It took me about three tries to finally get it paired. Once it is connected, the app is great for scheduling and checking your air quality history, but the initial setup could definitely be smoother. On the plus side, I have integrated it with Home Assistant, which is great for monitoring trends and connecting it to other smart sensors around my home. Other minor things to note are that the unit is very tall, so make sure you have the vertical space for it, and the temperature sensor on the front can occasionally read a degree or two warmer than the actual room. Also, I have noticed the gas sensor has a habit of getting stuck on L2 or L3. Even when the machine runs for ages, that gas reading does not really want to budge unless I actually open a window to let fresh air in, which makes me doubt how accurate that specific reading is. Overall, if you want cleaner air and a decent fan without cluttering your room with multiple devices, this is absolutely worth considering. It looks premium, performs beautifully, and the replacement filters are cheaper and last longer than competitor brands like Dyson.

One Device. Total Comfort. All Year Round
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Air Performer 8000 Series AMF870/35 has honestly changed the vibe of my home. It's not just an air purifier - it's a purifier, fan, and heater all in one sleek premium design. The air feels noticeably fresher within minutes, especially after cooking or during allergy season. The cooling fan is smooth and quiet, perfect for relaxing or working from home without annoying noise. And the heater mode is Super cosy and quick to warm up the room on colder days. What I love most is how smart and stylish it looks - modern, minimal, and doesn't feel bulky at all. The app controls and air quality display make it feel really high-tech without being complicated. If you want cleaner air, comfort in every season, and less clutter from having multiple devices... this is genuinely worth it

Hello Ric,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Philips AMF870/35 3-in-1 Air Purifier, Cooling Fan & Heater: ''Main Filter (HEPA + Activated Carbon).
Not washable or reusable.
You can vacuum the surface when prompted by a "filter cleaning" alert (if your model supports it), but this only delays the need for replacement.
Once the filter replacement alert appears, the entire filter must be replaced—no cleaning options.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Daniela,
Philips AMF870/35 3-in-1 Air Purifier, Cooling Fan & Heater.
The AMF870/35 is designed to be energy-efficient, using only 40W to purify the air. However, it doesn’t have a specific energy class rating like some other household appliances.
It can be used by children aged 8 years and above and children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello Puds.
Philips AMF870/35 3-in-1 Air Purifier, Cooling Fan & Heater:
This is made in Netherlands.
Thank you for using Q&A.
That is a good question. I have a similar product by Dyson, and I only know because I have a smart meter, that it doesnt use full power for heating all the time. It goes down to 1.2 Kw. This information should be provided by Philips, about the energy range for heating. If you have a smart meter, you could buy it and test it, and return it if not happy.
Hi RJ.
Re Philips 3 in 1 Air Purifiers:-
Energy efficiency:-
Max heater power consumption: 2200 W

Thanks for using Q & A
Hi Khaerr,
Thanks for contacting us. Yes! All of air purifiers equipped with an active carbon filter (such as this model) filter most pollutants including formaldehyde.
