I'm glad I've paid more but for a better quality controller. I went for a cheap non branded one in the past and it was terrible, stick drift, connection issues and not supported for PS remote play. This has changed my gaming life!!

These are controllers only, designed to change your Android phone or iPhone into a gaming console. You snap in your phone and play any game or service that supports controllers. It works with iPhone (iOS 15 or later) and Android (10.0 or later).
The Backbone App for this is free to use. There is an optional paid subscription though, Backbone+, for the app, which gives you extra features and services, e.g. game recording and streaming.

Hey Rose, this Argos staff member guessed and was wrong Im afraid. This is USB-C and the iPhone 13 has a lighting port so isnt compatible. There is another version of this controller, often called Gen 1, thats made specifically for iPhones with lighting ports.

The Apple iPhone 13 is iOS 15 so will be compatible.

Hi Robbo, you got half a correct answer from Argos staff there. This one isnt compatible with iPhone 12, but only because it has a Lightning port. There is another version of this controller available, often referred to as the Gen 1, which is specifically made for iPhones with Lightning ports.

Clever branding and colour coded. In reality, its just a joypad. It will work with any online service you can access by phone, like Xbox or NVIDIA online services too. Good with Retroarch and similar too for vintage style gameplay. Its an excellent product.

I can confirm that the Backbone One: PlayStation Mobile Gaming Controller USB-C would not be compatible with the iPhone 11 as it uses the lightning connection and not USB-C. The lightning connection version can be found here -
