Easy and Simple

Killer Controller! Replaced my console.
Killer experience for the price. Got rid of my PS4 this year and this basically plugs the gap now. iPhone gaming has gotten seriously competitive! Plug and play - super simple setup. Controls feel great. Joysticks and triggers are awesome and most importantly for me it’s incredibly compact and just about fits in my pocket. Obsessed.

The perfect mobile gaming experience
My two sons are so happy with their backbones. It means they can continue their gaming whilst on long journeys or at their grandparents homes where they would ordinarily be bored and want to come home in fear of missing out gaming with their friends. I actually made a mistake and ordered two of the same backbone, not realising my oldest son needed this newer model to work on his brand new model of phone, so on Christmas Day I ordered this one to be delivered to my nearest convenience Sainsbury’s and by 6pm on Boxing Day we had two equally happy boys. Really easy to set up.

These are controllers only, designed to change your Android phone or iPhone into a gaming console. You snap in your phone and play any game or service that supports controllers. It works with iPhone (iOS 15 or later) and Android (10.0 or later).
The Backbone App for this is free to use. There is an optional paid subscription though, Backbone+, for the app, which gives you extra features and services, e.g. game recording and streaming.

Hey Rose, this Argos staff member guessed and was wrong Im afraid. This is USB-C and the iPhone 13 has a lighting port so isnt compatible. There is another version of this controller, often called Gen 1, thats made specifically for iPhones with lighting ports.

Made for Apple and Android - Works with iPhone (iOS 15 or later) and Android (10.0 or later) devices that have a USB-C connector, including the all-new iPhone 15 Series.
The Apple iPhone 13 is iOS 15 so will be compatible.

Hi Robbo, you got half a correct answer from Argos staff there. This one isnt compatible with iPhone 12, but only because it has a Lightning port. There is another version of this controller available, often referred to as the Gen 1, which is specifically made for iPhones with Lightning ports.
