BEST FRIDGE/FREEZER I'VE PURCHASED.
I bought this fridge/freezer several months ago and it looks fantastic. I was a little concerned that it might not fit into the space left by my old one, but it did. it's 50/50 -- that is there's as much space at the top ( fridge ) as there is at the bottom ( freezer ). The energy rating is E which is a little down the scale but still acceptable in my book for such a smart-looking fridge/freezer which even has a water dispenser. Well worth the very reasonable price I paid. I thoroughly recommend it.

Bad Fridge/Freezer! Its definitely not cold enough
Even though it was empty and we let it stand long enough, the new fridge/freezer is way warmer than my previous one, and numerous family members have stated it is not cooling properly. This fridge temperature is about 10°C, and the freezer is about 0°C. Way warmer than my previous two separate ones and I have my medication in a brand new fridge that is warm! It has also started to freeze up in the back because i have it on the number 7 setting and it is still not working right.

The Fridgemaster MC55240DE Freestanding Fridge Freezer does not have a specific defrost function like some other models. Instead, it is recommended to completely defrost the freezer at least once every six months to maintain optimal performance and prevent ice build up that can reduce available space and increase energy consumption. To defrost, simply turn off the freezer and allow it to sit for a while before turning it back on. This process can be accelerated by placing hot water in the drawer or bowls of hot water in the freezer.

This model has rear wheels to make moving it easier, but that can cause it to roll slightly. To keep it stable:
Adjust the front levelling feet – Turn the two front feet clockwise until they firmly touch the floor. This takes the weight off the wheels.
Tilt it slightly back – A small backward tilt helps the door close automatically and adds stability.
Extra grip – If your floor is very smooth, place non-slip pads or a rubber mat under the feet.
Once the feet are properly adjusted, the fridge should stay in place when you open the door.

When you receive your fridge freezer, it is important to leave it to stand for 4 hours prior to plugging it in, this is to allow the compressor oil to settle within the appliance. You should then ideally wait 24 hours before putting food into it.
