Wish I had got it years ago!
I have always steamed vegetables in my microwave perfectly happily, but my new microwave produced so much condensation it needed mopping out before continuing. I opted to try a vegetable steamer and as it was so inexpensive, I thought it was worth a try. Well, I wished I had got it years ago! I was a bit worried about condensation, but although it does produce some, it is a steamer after all, but no more than a kettle does. The vegetables are delicious and even better than the microwaved steamed ones. A microwave problem has become a vegetable steamer delight! Very easy to use & clean. It's is a nice size and fits neatly on my worktop. I also think it looks good too.

A must have for every kitchen
I love this steamer as it provides a healthy way to cook and retain nutrients. The timer is accurate, it heats up quickly and condensation is less than I expected. With the use of an extractor fan it is no problem at all. It looks good, not too big, very easy to use and clean and having a timer with automatic switch off is a great safety feature. The ability to ‘boil’ eggs is a real bonus too.

To use the Cookworks FS1400-GS 2 Tier Steamer - Stainless Steel for cooking rice the water base needs to be at max capacity and 1.5x the weight of rice in the rice bowl also. For example 200g rice and 300ml water in the rice bowl, plus the water base needs to be at max capacity.
