Very bad buy.
My old arlo battery would operate our video doorbell for at least 3 months, before it run out of power. When it started staying on for only one week, I bought a new one from Argos. It was a shocker! When fully charged, it lasted only for one week. Very disappointing.

No, this battery is only compatible with the AVD2001 wireless Video Doorbell (1st generation). The battery of our new Essential 2nd Generation Video Doorbell cannot be removed.

White our Arlo Essential Video Doorbells do not emit sounds on their own, they can be paired with the Arlo Chime 2. When connected, the Arlo Chime 2 will play a melody each time the Video Doorbell is pressed, alerting you to visitors. To operate, the Arlo Chime 2 needs to be plugged into an indoor power outlet.

The Arlo Rechargeable Battery for Wireless Video Doorbell provides a video system that streams live 2K video of who or what is at your front door. You would require an Arlo Secure Subscription (sold separately) to save video clips in the cloud and look back at them via the app.

Our Arlo Essential Video Doorbells can record to the Arlo cloud thanks to an Arlo Secure subscription plan; they also come with a 3-month free Arlo Secure trial that lets you take advantage of all the included advanced features (including cloud storage).
When synced to an Arlo base station or SmartHub, our Arlo Essential Video Doorbells can record to a local storage device free of charge. More specifically:
• With a VMB4000, VMB4500, VMB4540 base station/SmartHub: local storage on USB device
• With a VMB5000 SmartHub: local storage on microSD card

This is a battery to be used with a Wireless Video Doorbell. This does not actually store your videos, these will be stored via your wireless doorbell.

Our Arlo Video Doorbells are equipped with only one button that, when pressed by a visitor, can trigger your existing mechanical or digital chime or an Arlo Chime 2, and also send a SIP call to your phone. It is not possible to add more push buttons directly to the doorbell.
Our wireless Arlo Essential Video Doorbell has the following dimensions: 47 × 143 × 37 mm. It weights 249 g with the battery inserted. The integrated button has a diameter of around 3 centimetres.

The VMA2400 rechargeable battery for the wireless Arlo Video Doorbell must be used inside the wireless Arlo Video Doorbell, and kept inserted into the doorbell when operating outdoors.
When the battery needs to be recharged, the wireless Arlo Video Doorbell must be pulled off the mount and brought indoors. After that, the battery must be removed from the doorbell and charged via the USB cable that came in the box to charge the battery.
The wireless Arlo Video Doorbell is not weather resistant when the battery is removed, so the doorbell must not be left outside while the battery is detached from it.
