About this product
Use your cat's existing microchip as an electronic door key and keep intruder animals out. Consisting of a white internal frame and an grey exterior frame and tunnel, the microchip cat flap will ideally complement doors that have a grey exterior and a white internal finish. Battery powered (4xAA not included), works with all microchips, stores up to 32 cats and no collar is required. Drop-in replacement for most cat flaps. Mounting adaptor required for glass installations. Flap size (mm) 142 w x 120 h. Selective entry, any cat can exit.

Cat is bemused
Cat adopted us and doors being left open. Realised this could not go on so got the cat flap. The cat looks at it occasionally but at 6 years old is suspicious and prefers his new servants to open doors. Cat flap looks excellent and works (cat next door activated it). Learnt to reset the memory ready for the next attempt to register the right cat!!

It works!
We bought this to replace our old style cat flap, hoping that our cat would learn how to activate it and he did, more-or-less straightaway! The only slight snag was that we’ve had to raise the external doorstep so he can get his head far enough into the tunnel.

Hey Christine,
I can advise that if the batteries die, it cannot check the microchip. So your cat will be able to go out, but not back in until the batteries are replaced.

165mm (W) x 171mm (H) is the size of hole required to fit the Sureflap Microchip Cat Flap.

The Microchip cat flap mounting adaptor would cover a hole up to 260 mm diameter so there will be no need to make an alteration to the installation.

"165mm (W) 171mm (H) is the size of hole required to fit our cat flap. If your existing hole is slightly bigger you can purchase the mounting adaptor to cover the gaps".

The supplier has advised the following for the Sureflap Microchip Cat Flap - Grey & White:
“ To fit your cat flap into glass, you will require a circular hole to be cut measuring 212 mm (8 3/8'') in diameter. This will need to be done by a professional glazier. To ensure your cat has unhindered access through the cat flap, you will need to make sure that this circular hole is cut at the appropriate height. Do this by first measuring the height from your cat’s tummy to the floor.
Take this height and add 56mm (2 3/16'') to it, this will give you the total distance from the floor to the centre of the circle you need cutting. Make sure this point is at least 200mm (7 7/8'') from the bottom of the window frame to allow room for the mounting adaptor which is needed for the glass installation.
