About this product
Use your cat's existing microchip as an electronic door key and keep intruder animals out. Consisting of a white internal frame and an grey exterior frame and tunnel, the microchip cat flap will ideally complement doors that have a grey exterior and a white internal finish. Battery powered (4xAA not included), works with all microchips, stores up to 32 cats and no collar is required. Drop-in replacement for most cat flaps. Mounting adaptor required for glass installations. Flap size (mm) 142 w x 120 h. Selective entry, any cat can exit.

Easy to fit and use.
We had this brand in a previous door which suited both cats. To make it clear we renewed our doors a couple of years ago and were reluctant to put a flap in as its a composite door. I checked door compatibility and found it could be used. Both cats are chipped so the flap is secure from other cats trying to get in. It's very easy to set up and easy to install. The cats were both using it within minutes of the installation - the elder is used to cat flaps, the kitten had never used one before. I would definitely recommend

Looks great, not sure what the cat thinks!!
Mine was fitted yesterday and looks great but it's not about the aesthetics, I want the cat to be able to get in and out when she wants. I hope she'll get used to using it. I needed a new bottom window pane but once that was in place with the hole pre-cut, the glazier fitted the unit in no time. It was on offer with Argos so very happy overall

A good cat flap
I neede a cat flap that recognised micro chips. This model was excellent. Very easy to fit. All you need to do is put yor cat through it and it picks up its chip. Only thing you neeed apart from tools is batteries. The flat is sturdy and opens easily for your cat to enter, even in a hurry. Would thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant bit of kit
Got this as my cat was beaten up by the neighbourhood ginger bully that kept coming in through my old cat flap, had to take it back as I stupidly didn’t measure it and needed to get the bigger one. These cat flaps are excellent, easy to install, easy to register the cats chip, just put their head through the hole and it’s registered straight away, took a couple of days for him to figure it out. I would certainly recommend if you want to keep the thugs out!

Perfect solution
This cat flap is brilliant, we were getting 2 stray cats in our house with our standard flap, one didn’t like our dog and the other didn’t like our cat!! Put this in and within minutes of sussing it out our cat was using it, and a month in we’ve had no strays in at all. Very easy to set up, press the settings button and put your cat through the flap and it records your cats chip, job done!! From then onwards it only recognises your cats chip which is what allows it to open inwards. Has a plastic stopper on the inside to stop flap opening inwards unless it recognises your cat but has no stopper on the outside so flap always opens outwards, great if a stray comes in unseen through an open door during the day as it won’t get shut in your house over night. 100% a perfect buy for the problem we were having!!

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Sureflap Microchip Cat Flap - Grey & White: ''Yes, the microchip cat flap can usually be installed in a composite door without any issues.
Please note that many composite doors contain internal metal reinforcement (such as steel or aluminium plates). If metal is present in the area being cut, the “metal door” installation instructions provided in the cat flap manual must be followed.''

The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap - Grey & White does not come with a mounting adjuster. However, a mounting adaptor is required for glass installations to ensure proper fit.

There is a small light on the front that flashes when the batterys start to get low.

I can advise that if the batteries die, it cannot check the microchip. So your cat will be able to go out, but not back in until the batteries are replaced.
