The Family Pet
I bought the Shark Spot Stain Carpet Cleaner to tackle a mystery stain that had been living in the carpet so long I'd started referring to it as "the family pet." This little machine turned up looking far too innocent to do any real work, but don't let its size fool you. It sucked up years of coffee spills, muddy paw prints, and whatever it was my children claimed was "just water" (it definitely wasn't). The amount of filthy water it collected was both deeply satisfying and slightly traumatic. Apparently, my carpet had been storing enough dirt to start its own ecosystem. It's easy to use, surprisingly powerful, and has enough suction to make me question whether I should keep it away from loose socks. The carpet dried quickly, smelled fresh, and looked several years younger. Highly recommended if you enjoy that strange feeling of pride that comes from staring at a clean patch of carpet and wondering why the rest of the house suddenly looks grubby by comparison. Five stars from me—and one very disappointed stain that thought it had permanent residency.

Perfect for what we needed
After years of spot cleaning various areas on the carpet it was time to bring out something more robust. I was surprised by how portable it is. How satisfying it was to see the dirty water which meant it had really gotten deep into the fibres.
