semi useless without aerial
My 10-year-old loves this and figured out the alarm and DAB programming in no time, but sadly the aerial wire broke off so it's only useful as an alarm now.

Fantastic!
Don't be put off buying this, it's fantastic little DAB radio alarm, I found it intuitive to learn how to use and got used to it very quickly (I'm 55 and reasonably tech savy/used to touch screens). The sound quality is superb, lovely range of nature sleep/wake sounds, great bluetooth function for listening to your audio book or meditation app in bed and no annoying glowing sunrise light waking you up, cos that's just rude!

Great Little Unit
This is a lovely little clock-radio-alarm unit. I bought it mainly for sound quality - and when paired via bluetooth it is very good indeed. A nice mix of wake-up sounds (birdsong is a very pleasant change from an alarm!) make for a solid little unit. Others have commented on how confusing the controls are; there is a short 5min video produced by Roberts on Youtube which is pretty clear, although maybe for a non-tech savvy person this unit may not be the best choice. Personally, I love it!

Interface needs work
Okay good sound, and the sleep sounds ok bit repeaty, but 3 stars because the interface oh my the interface is shocking Im still not used to it it kinda does it own thing oh and the alarm off still dont know how I get to it, its hut and miss, I do like the fact the sound will go very low and not be distorted.... If it wasnt for interface be five star, also dont listen to you tube it is not rechargable its mains, only has a back up cell for alarm..

Succeeds in everything
Absolute quality. Great sound. The memory card saves all preset radio stations and alarms. You can turn the clock off at the plug everyday, turn it on, then it will find the date and time immediately. I'm a huge fan of the sleep function to nature sounds as my neighbours have the TV on until late each night and I don't want to wear earplugs every night! It's a small and powerful radio. Took a while to learn my way round, but it can be learnt! Finally, I'd recommend the back light setting to Auto, so when you turn the lights off, it goes dim. Enjoy!

Drift to sleep.
We're really happy with our purchase, great little radio alarm, good sound quality and wakes us gently. Love the sleep sounds, which definitely help me drift off to sleep.

Disappointing
Bought it for the sleep-sound functionality but was disappointed that the sounds only play for 1 hour max. To mask street noise, I need white noise throughout the night and so had to revert to using my phone, which I'd been trying to avoid. Cycling through the settings (e.g. DAB to Bluetooth) also meant I got a burst of loud music just before getting into bed, which wasn't exactly relaxing. As others have noted, the set-up for the Zen Plus is wildly complicated and I struggled to change the alarm setting or recall radio station presets. Overall, a good idea but poorly executed.

Apologies, this doesn't have a US variant of the plug, it's a UK based company that stocks for the UK market and thus you would need an adapter to make this work in other countries such as the US.

The supplier has advised the following for the Roberts Zen Plus DAB+/DAB/FM RDS Bluetooth Clock Radio-Black:
“ Entering the sleep sounds mode will start playback of the Zen+’s inbuilt soothing sound library. The sleep sounds will play for the duration of a timer before fading out (default is 20 minutes). You can stop the sound at any time by pressing the Multifunction button and return to standby.
You can alter the duration of sleep sounds by entering the menu and adjusting the ‘Wind Down Time’.
Use the < and > buttons to switch from sound to sound.
You can shortcut to the wind down time by long pressing the multifunction button. This allows you to quickly choose a new wind down time. ”

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Roberts Zen Plus DAB+/DAB/FM RDS Bluetooth Clock Radio-Black: The battery provided is a back up battery. If there is a power cut the back up battery will save all the presets.

The Roberts Zen Plus DAB+/DAB/FM RDS Bluetooth Clock Radio screen brightness is set automatically depending on the amount of light detected by the light sensor (just below the Roberts logo on the front). You can also adjust the screen brightness to a fixed level. Enter the menu from any mode:
System->Backlight->[Auto, Low, Medium, High]
