Returned
I returned it as the coffee was just luke warm instead of hot

Love It!
So far very pleased, I had to return a coffee machine as it kept going wrong, it was much more expensive than this one. The Salter Espirista does just what I want, I need 3 double shots to fill my mug but that’s fine, a good feature is that you can tap the centre button to stop it which I really like. The coffee is good and hot with great crema, I grind my coffee to powder stage. I don’t seem to have to fill the reservoir as often as my previous machine. I shall regularly de scale it. I don’t want to tempt fate after the expensive machine but, very happy with the Salter

Simple but works well. Good VFM
I bought this about 3 weeks ago after my more expensive coffee maker failed. It is very simple but I like it and it comes with a 3 yr guarantee. It has a small footprint, larger water container than my previous device and froths milk well. You also get taller cups under the expresso maker. My only irritation is that it went on sale 2 weeks after I bought it (I paid £100, sale price £80). Good choice if you don't need the theatre of a sophisticated machine.

Disappointed
Ive had to return this machine as we the coffee tasted of plastic even after rinsing everything 2/3 rtimes

Makes really good coffee!
Bought this 3 weeks ago to replace a filter machine. It took a while to perfect a good latte coffee. After adjusting the amount of coffee, purchasing a milk thermometer and removing the steamer nozzle we can now make a very good coffee with velvety smooth milk topping rather than the large amount of froth with the steamer nozzle attached.

Makes a really good coffee!
No frills, just does what it says on the tin. This was to replace one costing four times much. Easy to use, great crema.

Good value robust design
Brought on a whim, shocked how much we use it. No downsides apart the cost of coffee keeps going up. You will be impressed and for the price it's a little gem of a machine.

Amazing
I bought this a few weeks ago for my mum’s birthday (as I needed something for the following morning so couldn’t wait for delivery.). The box was slightly battered when she handed it to me but it was the last one in stock so I can’t complain as I’d left it too late to find a replacement. The machine itself works well for the price. It is a bit noisy and I’ve not quite figured out how to properly work the steamer but I’m sure that will come with time. It doesn’t come with a metal jug or anything to back-flush it with but for the price it’s more than what I expected. I would note though that you won’t be able to get a clean pucks of coffee grounds out and it will need a rinse after use as the handle doesn’t fully drain.

Hi Jopie,
After making coffee with the Salter EK5240BO Espirista Espresso Coffee Machine, it's common for some water to remain in the coffee funnel.
Regarding using boiling water in the water compartment, it's not recommended. Boiling water can potentially damage the internal components of the machine and affect its performance. It's best to use cold or room temperature water.
