As per the manufacturers Owner Manual -

Do not fill past the maximum 1.7 litre 7
cups or below the minimum 0.5 litre 2 cups level.

Therefore minimum fill is 2 cups. I was dissapointed to discover this as, for me, its a deal-breaker.

The Cookworks KE01410-CE Jug Kettle has a concealed heating element so is capable of boiling just one cup of water. It has an auto shut-off feature if the kettle boils dry.
