Superb camera!
I bought this camera specifically to use underwater on a scuba diving holiday in the Red Sea. I have previously owned GoPro 3, and GoPro 8 cameras and wished to upgrade. I am really pleased with the results.

Pros: 10/10 image quality Front facing screen for vlogging Cons: Only shoots video in HEV. This is problematic if you are editing on a computer as u need a powerful machine. Way too expensive than rivals such as Action 4 pro. Short battery life Overheating Gopro accessories are Way to expensive. It costs around £70 just for a frame for the camera (media mod) just to attach external mic etc. All I'd say is if you are not a professional or content creator an older used gopro would be more cost effective. Also gotta have deep pockets! I got rid of mine and bought an Osmos Action 4 for a fraction of the cost!

After checking with the supplier, I can confirm this GoPro HERO12 Action Camera is waterproof up to 33ft, any deeper an you will require clear housing because of the increased water pressure.

Yes it can but only to a depth of 10 meters, make sure the battery cove is secure
Yeah, waterproof down to 10m deeper diving requires housing as water pressure will push in the buttons. If surfing etc a float is handy so you don't loose it. Tethers are good to keep it attached to yourself so if you drop it, it's not gone.

As you are the owner of the order by purchasing it you will be the legal owner of it, regardless of the gifting, as the warranty is usually with the retailer it will be the retailer that provides this support. Any additional warranty time will be with the manufacture, but the retailer still has a duty of care for up to 5/6 years depending on location.
The gift receiver will either need to go through you to claim on the warranty as you are the legal owner of the order.
