Sharpness??
Purchased not long back but had wait for a good day to the dogs (Lasa Shitsu's) outside. 1st use was disappointing. Cut with guards very hard even after lubricating. Tried with out and was better but not the reason I got them. These are going back

Recommended hair types only
These are good. They do state they’re not suitable for poodle type or long hairs but I got them for my labradoodle as I was desperate, and they don’t really work amazingly on him but I managed to get him done, so stick to the recommended hair types. Quite loud too and obviously on a wire so need a dog who will sit nice for you!

I always buy this exact whal dog clipper, this time it's not as heavy to hold, no 4 comb was bent and scissors blunt. Seems it's mad of cheaper materials to me.

These clippers literally did not cut, they kept going quiet and not cutting any hair at all despite being set up as directed. I oiled and adjusted the blades. I took them back to get a refund. I would strongly advise anyone not to buy these.

The clippers aren't suitable for either Double Coats, that a Shih Tzu has or a Curly Wavy, of that of a poodle.

This dog clipper is suitable for wiry, smooth and short coats.
After checking for you, Cairns generally have a hard wire coat when groomed properly. If clipped, over time they can lose their wiry coat. I would suggest you seek more advise from a professional groomer or breeder as to caring for your Cairns coat.

The Wahl Multi Cut Dog Clipper Kit are not recommended for clipping cocker spaniels. Please see the chart in the 'More Details' section on the webpage where you can see that the cocker spaniel coat type is greyed out.
