This will depend on the size of the 16 year old, the bean bag is H85, W60, D80cm in size and has a Floor to seat height of 85cm, with a seat depth of 60cm. This is close to an adult chair size.

This is chair shaped rather than being like most bean bags so though it's not going to provide the same support as a regular chair, its shape will tend to make it form more of a shape to hold the neck. We cannot promise that it'd provide the sort of support you require as, to a high degree, this is a subjective matter that will differ from person to person. If it does start to lose shape, just like a regular bean bag, you can fluff it back into shape.
