About this product
Hot days leave dogs panting and overheated, searching for shade and cool spots to rest. The Petface 50cm Dog Cooling Coat helps bring their temperature down when activated with water. Suitable for large dogs, the lightweight construction feels soft and cool against their coat without adding bulk or restricting movement. The water-activated design works for outdoor activities in warm weather or helps unwell dogs feel more comfortable indoors.
The coat activates instantly when dampened, which means quick relief without waiting for complicated prep. Lightweight fabric stays comfortable during wear without weighing them down or causing irritation. Cold water keeps it fresh and ready between uses. The 50cm sizing suits large breeds, giving proper coverage without tight spots or gaps that reduce effectiveness.

Customers Say
The cooling coat is well-made, effective, and comfortable for dogs, especially in hot weather. Proper sizing is crucial; some found straps too small for large breeds. Requires re-wetting to maintain cooling effect.

Not for elderly dogs.
Thought this was like a cooling mat with inbuilt "cooling" but it has to be wet on the dog and not advised by vet for an elderly rheumatic girl. Sorry but had to return.

Cooling coat
With the approaching 5th heat wave, I bought this cooling coat for my show Cocker Spaniel. It has been very helpful to cool him down both indoors and outdoors. On a few very hot days, he has worn it almost all day - just taking it off to re-wet it and then putting it straight back on again. It is very soft and comfortable, easy to put on and take off using the 2 Velcro strips.

Cooling Comfort - Very good quality & works!
This is ideal for the hot weather & our elderly Whippet is very cool & contented when wearing it, much to our relief as he has thin, delicate skin which needs protection in extreme weather, winter or summer. A really good help, well-made garment, fits him beautifully too. We don't take him walking during hot parts of the day (nor in extremely cold weather). Happy dog, Happy owners!

Good value and does the job.
Bought this from Argos since they could deliver 3 days earlier than Amazon. A good fitting coat that the dog is happy wearing. Light weight, but holds plenty of water to keep him cool. It reacts like a chamonix leather.

Hello there,
The supplier has advised for the Petface 50cm Dog Cooling Coat:
1. Place the cooling coat in a bowl of cold water.
2. Gently knead the coat so it takes in enough water. 3. Wring excess water from the coat so it is not dripping. Place over the dogs back.
4. Secure the coat with the belt around the tummy and fastening at the front of the coat.
If using every day, you can store it slightly damp in a sealable bag, otherwise hang to dry. Do not unfold the coat when it is dry, soak it first to soften the material. Do not use the cooling coat on a cold day. If your dog appears to show signs of feeling cold, remove the coat immediately. Handwash in cold water only.
Thank you for using Q&A.
