The Bose Portable Home Speaker is genuinely versatile, working as a wireless home speaker with Wi-Fi streaming, a portable Bluetooth speaker you can take anywhere, and a voice-controlled assistant all rolled into one. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built in, you simply ask to stream music, radio, podcasts or audiobooks, check the weather, set timers, send messages, or control your smart home devices. It delivers 360-degree sound that's deep, clear and lifelike wherever you place it, and it's compact enough to move between rooms or take outdoors without hassle.
The internal speaker covers the room evenly thanks to that 360-degree design, so there's no bad angle. It connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi depending on how you're using it, and it's compatible with iPod, iPhone and iPad. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to half a day, and it supports PD fast charging so you're not waiting around, though a charging adaptor isn't included. It powers via USB with the included cable, and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Bose portable smart speaker
Purchased this a few weeks ago… always wanted one soon as I heard a friend’s speaker. Waited years to be in a position to buy one and I am certainly not disappointed, I’m wowed!! I absolutely love everything about this speaker, the sound, the quality of the speaker, the ease of use. There are no negatives to this speaker…it’s brilliant!!! Best thing I’ve bought in years and was worth the wait!

I bought the Portable Smart Speaker a month ago and I’m so glad that I did. My previous model and some of its features have since expired. So it was time to upgrade my Bose device to something new. I definitely won’t look back now!

Search is slow and losses connection, pair function is always dropping out, Alexa function doesn’t always work. Sorry Bose some work is required with this product. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing two.

This is able to work with Alexa and Google Home, but you aren't required to connect the services. But yes, it does limit the voice control functions.
