I can advise that the Tapo C500 is a wired power camera, not battery-operated, so it doesn't have an internal battery and cannot be topped up with a solar panel.

To play back footage, you can watch it from the microSD card. Subscription to Tapo Care allows you to save footage in cloud storage and it can then be watched directly from the Tapo app.

The detection feature of the camera is related to factors such as the installation position, the motion, the settings configured on the camera, etc. It is not recommended to place the camera behind glass. If the camera is installed behind glass, infrared lights may cause reflection, resulting in blurry and unclear images, thereby hindering the timely detection of moving objects, especially in nighttime scenes.

While the Tapo C500 has an IP65 weatherproof rating, which protects it against jets of water and dust, we recommend taking precautions with the DC adapter. The packaging includes a Waterproof Seal, which is primarily designed for the power connector.

The mains lead for the Tapo C500 camera is 3 meters long. This power cable connects the camera to a power adapter, which then plugs into a wall outlet.

1. Let the alarm stop automatically when no movement is detected for a certain period.
2. Turn off the alarm manually by tapping the Alarm button on the camera’s Live View page.
