Essential safety night light in a powercut
I’ve used these for years and a recent quick powercut left me realising I needed another upstairs as well as downstairs. In the event of a powercut the light torch part comes on automatically. It’s like a torch that you lift out of the cradle and carry around. They’re very useful as night lights but if you’re half asleep they can be a bit of a shock as they are movement alerted to full bright beam. I have several now situated around the house, just in case. Useful, and reassuring.

Great piece of kit!
I bought this 3 weeks ago as we had friends staying and living in an old Terrace the floor levels are a bit uneven. We wanted to ensure if anyone got up during the night they could see there way to the loo and not tread on the dog!! Perfect on the landing giving a dim light until it catches movement and then comes on lovely and bright. Perfect. Great to have the added facility of using the torch function too.

Xtralite Nitesafe Duo+Dual Function Night Light
This is the second Xralite that I have purchased. Excellent, we took it on holiday with us, Life saver as we had a power cut and the holiday home was in total darkness. The Light also becomes a torch. Excellent if you are elderly and getting up through the night, just plug in and when you approach the light it comes on. Fab.

Great Features for a Night Light.
Staying on Holiday in the Yorkshire Countryside. No street lights at night. This model has several settings. You can have a low light. But when you get near the sensor, the light becomes brigher. I am taking this on my next holidays. I bought a cheaper night light a few months ago, and all it did was illuminate he celing.

Does as expected.
This is a useful light. It comes on dimly at night, it brightens as you walk past, it comes on automatically during a power cut.

Ticks the Box
The Xtralite Nitesafe Duo and Dual function night light has been very success for my Mum. It is bright, chunky enough to be easily visible but not big enough to brush against in the socket. The motion sensor works a treat, lighting up as Mum moves into the hallway. Ticks the box nicely.

Does the job, but expected better
First the good bits. Its easy to operate and Argos provided great service and availability. The Torch function is great and and the PIR sensor works. On the negative side, the PIR sensor doesn't have a wide range, so you have to with a metre and narrow angle to trigger it and the light the night light gives off isn't that powerful. Its good enough to see navigate around our small landing in the middle of the night, but that's about it. I bought this about three weeks ago to replace one I bought from Homebase 6 years ago. Homebase no longer sell their competing model; I have two others from Ever Ready, but they too no longer make these, so this model looked like the one to go for. Both the old homebase and Ever Ready lights have a more sensitive PIR motion sensor and easily throw out twice as much light, making it easy to navigate not just my tiny landing, but the connecting staircase too.

Great nightlight
I have had one of these before that lasted nearly three years. I hope this one does the same.
