I bought this to replace the same pepper mill which I have had for many years used most days and had finally stopped grinding. I'm hoping this replacement will be just as good. I like the easy way you can choose how fine or coarse you want your pepper and it is easy to refill

This pepper grinder is great. Unable to say how long it will remain effective but it seems very well made. Not a bad price considering its quality when many others are over-priced.

Brilliant grinder
Bought recently to replace very old wooden one . This holds plenty of salt crystals or peppercorns so doesn't need filling as often. Works beautifully

Easy to use
This is so easy to use and hold. The control to change the coarseness is a little stiff but will ease the more I use it.

Pretty good
Sturdy and grinds really well and the grinder was already full of peppercorns which I did not expect . Adjustable to suit whatever grind you want , the max is quite large but that's what I wanted of it . I have had these grinders before by OXO and they got blocked and failed to work properly , I am hoping this one does not . Feels easy to handle .

Brilliant idea - no mess!
These may not be the most attractive pepper mills on the market - but they are certainly the most practical. Due to the fact that you turn the mill over to get the grindings out from the top means that there is no mess on the table or counter. The fact that, unlike traditional grinders, you have to invert them to use them does take a bit of getting used to - but the benefits of the quality & practicality of the item soon makes up for that. The ceramic grinding mechanism is a great idea - although it doesn't make much difference for the pepper mill, it does mean that the salt mill is much more hard-wearing than the plastic that is normally used because salt would corrode the metal. It also means that they are interchangeable - the only real difference between salt & pepper is the colour of the disc on the top (white for salt and black for pepper).

Yes, you can clean your OXO Softworks Pepper Grinder easily and hand wash only:
To disassemble, remove the top of the grinder.
Remove any peppercorns from the chamber. Rinse with warm soapy water.
Use coarse salt to clean the mechanism effectively. Allow all parts to dry before reassembly to prevent clumping or mould.
Reassemble and refill with fresh peppercorns.
Regular cleaning helps maintain the grinder's performance and freshness.

Yes, you can use the OXO SoftWorks Pepper Grinder to grind other spices Some spices that you can mill in a pepper grinder include oregano, cumin, parsley. Make sure to clean the grinder beforehand to remove any lingering flavors and avoid damaging the grinder.

The SW Pepper grinder, 2154200N1UK has the same ceramic grinder mechanism as the SW Salt grinder 2154300N1UK.
You can use both salt and pepper in either grinder.
