The Yale Smart Motion CCTV gives you peace of mind that your home is securely protected, allowing you to check from anywhere via a smartphone, using the Yale View app. The Smart Motion Detection feature focuses in on human shapes, whilst the Dual Tech technology corroborates movement to limit the number of false alarms and the bright white lights act as a deterrent to any potential intruders.
Smart Motion Detection (SMD) focusses on real threats - recognising human & vehicle shapes on motion detection, rather than simply heat & motion – significantly reducing false alarms.
30m Night vision with 10m colour vision enables users to more readily identify intruders or visitors.
Dual Detection Technology uses both PIR & Video Motion to correctly identify movement of humans or vehicles to limit number of false alarms.
You must own the Smart Motion CCTV XVR for this camera to work.

Highly recommend
Excellent bit of kit, don't get me wrong, this is hard to install yourself, but with some Patience it is very secure. Would highly recommend, especially if you feel your WiFi is vulnerable. Wired to VXR box with options to backup to a USB. Quality night vision and quality AI detection. Only downside is the AI feature is only available for up to four cameras so choose wisely if you have the full 8. Would recommend using an expert guide or AI assistant to guide you through the set up as there are a lot of settings and features. But it hasn't let me down once. Doesn't need to be online to record. It has been a life saver. Literally.

Replacement system
I bought this because my old ‘box’ lost HDMI output. I was told there is no replacement as it is over 10 years old. The new one is a good system. Uses the old wiring which saves a lot of hassle. It also works with my old cameras! Which I was told it wouldn’t. I only found out because I accidentally connected up an old one.

Pretty good hardware, terrible software
Cameras are ok but not as clear as I hoped they would be. Software is terrible and user manual very poor.

Cheap but not very cheerful
Straightforward to install but difficult to set up. The cameras seem to have limited lateral movement and field of view. Also you have to turn off the notifications when you're in the property otherwise you get an email alert every time you pass camera.

Worth the money
Quick and easy setup, app works really well and cameras are great with lights on. You need a monitor to set them up at first but other than that you just plug in and leave it alone

Be wary!
I didn't know that this camera requires an XVR box to work so I had to take it back, and the way the wires are folded neatly into a small box and once unraveled they are a nightmare to get back in (It's about 20 metres of wiring) and I obviously had to unravel it to see if it would work before I realised you needed an xvr box for it. The first Argos I went to refused me a refund as the box was a bit mangled trying to get everything back in, at the second Argos store luckily the guy was more understanding and gave me a refund. All in all a nightmare! Maybe it's my fault for not knowing you needed something else for this camera to work but Argos should make it clear in the description! Argos do sell XVR boxes for this camera but not on there own and they only sell one that comes with two of these cameras and I don't need two! I am looking at an alternative camera now which is cheaper and you only need a microSD card for it to work.

Very effective. You can view your home from different angles. Great value for money.

Nice quality system.
Great product. Really clear pictures etc. App for phone works well. Although, at the moment I’m still unable to sort out the audio. The default setting is off. I have tried many ways to enable the audio but failed everytime. Also be warned. If you’re not a techy person, you will need to search for tutorials on YouTube as very limited instructions.

“ There is a subscription option for our products but this is not mandetory. Our Yale Smart Outdoor Cameras and Smart Video Doorbell have an internal memory which will store videos for up to 72 hours. ”
