The Karcher WD 5 takes on jobs too tough for your indoor vacuum. Perfect for cleaning all round the car, garage and garden, it's robust enough to handle anything from light dust to heavy rubble and liquid. This machine is powered by a 1100w motor, which works with an impact-resistant 25L container and clever filter system to move seamlessly between wet and dry pick up.
Restore suction power at the touch of a button with built-in filter cleaning that automatically removes dirt from the filter.

Great multi purpose vacuum
This is a powerful vacuum and easily clears building dust and patio debris. Also lifts water very well. I’ve given four stars as the hose and attachments are quite flimsy. The unit itself will last but I imagine the hose will be split within 12-18 months.

Poor material quality
The suction power is good, but the build quality is poor. After just one month of use, the suction tube developed a crack. The suction tube material seems to be of low quality.

Poor lifespan
I bought a WD5 in Dec 2021 its had very light use, just cleaning the odd car and a bit of decorating clearance, probably used 10 times a year if that. So when the motor burnt out last weekend and dumped a whole load of carbon over itself and our wooden floor, i was far from impressed. I thought these were meant to be robust

Good machine - can get clogged up though
Very good for car vacuuming and general outside clean up. Can get clogged up with leaves ( not surprisingly) which are a little hard to remove. Overall a decent machine

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Karcher WD 5 Corded Bagged Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner: This is primarily a wet and dry vacuum cleaner, designed for tougher jobs like:
Workshop floors
Garages
Outdoor areas
Sucking up debris, dust, and liquid spills
It can be used on carpets, but it’s not specifically designed for household carpet cleaning like a regular upright or cylinder vacuum cleaner would be.
Key points:
It will pick up dry dirt and dust from carpets just fine.
It doesn’t have a motorised brush head, so it won’t be as effective at deep-cleaning carpets compared to a carpet vacuum.
It’s better suited for utility areas, car interiors, hard floors, and more heavy-duty clean-ups.
If you need a vacuum primarily for carpets, a dedicated domestic vacuum might be a better option. But for occasional carpet cleaning, the WD 5 can do the job.
