Good suction at least.
I would say the overall build quality is good for a completely plastic product. However it is obviously designed to meet a price point. For: It provides good suction (at least as a brand new item with empty dust bag) You can buy longer hose and extra tools. Against: Noisy in operation Hose is short - don't try reaching too far with it or it will play dead and fall over The power cord is quite short and there is no provision for cable storage. Comes with just a (fairly flimsy) floor brush and a crevice tool. I have not used it for wet jobs. Purchased on offer at £70. Reviewed after two weeks and had gone up to £100 Tools are 32mm diameter so my old vacuum tools don't fit

Sturdy
I haven't used it as a vacuum yet but I have used it to suck up water. Quite strong and is a very sturdy hoover. I have had cordless before and feel they loose suction over time. This is a very good basic hoover, not over complicated which means less to go wrong.

Mostly good with a few workarounds needed.
Overall it's a decent vacuum for clearing the car and dealing with small spills. Not all liquids are just water, so when cleaning spills mixed with dirt then the filter gets clogged up and is a pain to clean. It's worth keeping a few in rotation so you have a clean dry filter when you need it. The crevice tool is too short to be practical, and sounds like a jet engine. I use a 35mm to 32mm adapter so I can use my smiley vacuum accessories with it instead. The smiley vacuum crevice tool is longer and quieter.

Hello Ian,
The Karcher WD 3 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner is primarily designed for workshop, garage, car, and outdoor messes, so is not specifically designed for home carpet — unlike an upright vacuum with a motorized brush head, it may not agitate carpet fibres as thoroughly. But for general dust, debris, and even pet hair on carpets, it’ll do fine.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Szzzzzz,
Karcher WD 3 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner
The Kärcher WD 3 Corded Bagged Cylinder Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner is primarily designed for workshop, garage, car, and outdoor messes, but it can absolutely be used for cleaning stair carpet with a few considerations:
Strong suction power — it’ll pull up embedded dirt and dust from carpets.
Variety of attachments — if your unit came with a crevice tool or upholstery brush, those would be ideal for stair carpet edges and treads.
Portable cylinder design — while it’s a bit bulkier than upright vacuums, you can park it on a landing or at the bottom of the stairs and use the hose to reach.
Considerations:
Not specifically designed for home carpet — unlike an upright vacuum with a motorized brush head, it may not agitate carpet fibers as thoroughly. But for general dust, debris, and even pet hair on stair carpets, it’ll do fine.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hi Tennant,
Karcher WD 3 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner 311/1903 This Vacuum cleaner would not be suitable to use as a pump for a mattress.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Nnn,
Karcher WD 3 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner 311/1903
This would not be suitable to deep clean carpets as it is a hoover and suction for liquid only and is not a cleaner.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hello J16,

Hello Rachel,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Karcher WD 3 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner: ''The Kärcher WD 3 Corded Bagged Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner is primarily designed for indoor and outdoor dry and wet vacuuming — things like sawdust, leaves, soil, water spills, and coarse dirt. When it comes to artificial grass, here’s how it stands:
Yes — for dry debris like leaves, dust, soil, and small bits of dirt.
It’s especially handy for cleaning up between the blades and around the edges where dirt collects.
Things to keep in mind:
Avoid using it on wet artificial grass unless you’re using the vacuum’s wet cleaning mode without a bag.
Be cautious with suction power — if your artificial grass isn’t well secured or has very light infill, the vacuum could potentially lift sections or disturb the infill.
Better suited for:
Dry leaves
Dust and light debris
Garden waste around the grass area
Not ideal for:
Deeply embedded sand infill
Large wet clumps of mud (unless switching to wet mode)
Very delicate or loosely laid turf.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi Chloe,
Having checked the manual, the bag should be removed when sucking up wet.
