About this product
The Targus Lap Chill Mat provides a comfortable and ergonomic work surface to keep you and your laptop cool. The Chill Mat rests on your lap and disperses heat generated by the laptop, using dual fans to provide ventilation which can be obstructed if the laptop is used on a pillow or comforter. Simply plug the USB connector into the laptop to activate cooling. The ergonomic tilt makes typing easy while the soft neoprene material provides cushioned comfort on your lap. The open design allows fans to run quietly and stimulates constant airflow.

Fans are quiet, but that’s because the product isn’t very powerful. There is an air cushion you can feel with your hand which may help your average laptop but won’t do anything for a metal built gaming laptop. Also, turns out higher spec laptops have airflow designed around the laptop being on a flat surface so this product actually works against it. As title states, I’m undecided, it doesn’t help keep a Razer Blade cool.

COOLS DOWN A HOT LAPTOP
I bought this as my laptop was getting uncomfortably hot. I set the laptop on top of the Cooling Pad and with two fans blowing upwards onto the underside of the laptop the Cooling Pad had worked even better than I had hoped, in just a short time the laptop was cool. I am happy with the purchase.

Helps cool my laptop in hot temperatures
My new laptop does not cope well with high temperatures and with our bedroom regularly 27-30 degrees C in hot weather, I was having problems with touching a very hot keyboard and a smell of burning plastic. A friend suggested this item and with the raised platform and USB plug in fans it helped my laptop lower its temperature by a lot and no more burning plastic smell.

The Targus Laptop Cooling Pad is the right size for a laptop, but do not expect to have room at the side for a mouse. The fan is silent and works really well. Considering how warm it has been recently, the laptop did not overheat, and the fan coped brilliantly.

Amazing, useful cooler for my laptop
I bought it two weeks ago and very happy with it! Simple to use, just plug into the USB slot, and work away even in the biggest heat. No worries about the laptop overheating, though I have to work all day non stop, no more unpleasant surprises during operation. Great accessory!

Great value
Bought this because my laptop was getting too hot underneath. Great value for money, cools it down a lot and the little USB tucked away underneath is nice. Can reach out either side with a little fiddling but I like that it keeps the wire mostly tucked away. It does tilt to an angle but that's fine for using in bed.

Yes. The fan only works when you plug the USB into the laptop. Dont plug it in if you only want to use the pad itself.

the laptop needs to rest on the feet on top of the Targus 15 - 17 Inch Laptop Cooling Pad which are 26cm apart. As long as this is possible then it should fit, however we would need more details of the model concerned to give an exact answer.

After checking with the supplier, I can confirm this Targus 15 - 17 Inch Laptop Cooling Pad • USB 1.1/2.0 compliant port (Standard) not USB C.
The pad will work with a USB C with the use of an adapter.

I can advise the following for the Targus 15 - 17 Inch Laptop Cooling Pad:
This will be down to the material that it's being placed upon. Any modifications to the actual pad will void it's warranty, however you could consider using the anti-slip mat, used on car dashboards etc, placed between your legs and the pad to increase it's friction.

No. There is no switch. Plugging the USB in is the only way to turn the fan on.
