About this product
Fill it, flick the switch, and wait for the light to go off. The Cookworks Kettle in Black makes preparing your tea, coffee and hot drinks effortless, holding 1.7l so you can make around 6-7 cups in one go. The 2200W element brings water to the boil in no time, and the indicator light tells you when it's ready. Boil-dry protection switches it off automatically if you forget to fill it, while the removable and washable limescale filter keeps things clean and catches particles before they reach your cup. The pull-back lid makes filling straightforward.
It's light at just 0.77kg when empty, so moving it around is effortless, and the 0.7m cable gives you flexibility for where you put it. The black plastic exterior fits into most kitchens without fuss, and cleaning is straightforward. You'll get a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee to back it up.

decent
It's been decent to use so far! Just a small note - the instruction booklet said to press the top to pop the lid open but it's a sliding mechanism instead.

Not such a good kettle
I bought this to replace my old Cookworks kettle which had served me well for many years, but had recently developed a failing switch. But I don't like the new one, for the following reasons: firstly it has no window on the right-hand side to let me see how full it is getting while filling from the tap, like the old one did have, the new one only has one on the left side which doesn't suit me. Secondly, it does not have a 360-degree base like the old one, you have to carefully fit the connection on the kettle onto to base, which is a bit annoying and not so easy with one hand. Thirdly, if you lift the kettle off the stand before it has boiled, it does not switch off, it stays switched on, unlike the old one. So I've purchased a replacement Russell Hobs kettle (also from Argos) which DOES have these features. A lot more expensive than the Cookworks one, but well worth it for me.
