Ear Defenders
I bought these ear defenders for Bonfire Night and they were brilliant. Loud noises are usually overwhelming, but this time the fireworks were completely manageable and the evening was actually enjoyable. Instead of wanting to leave early, we stayed for the whole display and are already planning to go again next year. The fit was comfortable, the sound reduction was impressive, and they made such a difference. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for reliable protection during noisy events.

Bought a month ago for bonfire night for my toddler. She lasted a couple fireworks which was good and said she wanted to leave after. Possibly without them she would've been crying so that's a relief for me.

Hello, thank you for the question. These are suitable for Children up to the age of 7 so would not be suitable for your 14 year old. Argos only sell children ear defenders however if you search for Hilka ear defenders on google you will find a suitable set. Regards, Hilka Tools

Hello, thank you for the question. Yes these would be suitable for most concerts. The ear defenders have a protection level of 27dB SNR. This means if the concert was say 100dB the ear protection would take that to 73db for the user. Normal conversation to give a benchmark is around 50-60db. As a guide for a child the noise including the reduced db level from the ear defenders should be under 80db. It would thus be a consideration to check with the organisers the expected DB level of the concert as i am sure these will vary depending upon the type of concert. The above is very much a guide only and will vary from concert and child. Other factors such as indoor / outdoor and distance from the speakers will also affect the total db level of an event.
