About this product
Conventional salt and pepper mills often create mess by leaving excess grounds on surfaces when placed down. This simple, elegant design avoids this problem as the grinding mechanism is at the top of the mill, which means any excess grounds fall back inside the unit after use. The innovative design also does away with a long central spindle for the grinding mechanism, which increases its capacity and makes it much easier to fill. Ordered from Argos and picked up at local Sainsbury. Attractive design and reasonable size. Not completely sure about the functionality as took a little practice to use. Even now not always dispensing condiment as expected but little bit of adjustment works. Certainly reduces spillage.

Awful design
Really disappointed with this set as I love the josephjoseph brand. It is so difficult to twist the pots & your hands get covered in salt & pepper. There is little indication as to whether it's coarsely or finely ground & twice the whole top has come off, the condiment has poured out & ruined the food. I have even emailed josephjoseph to tell them what an awful product this is. Don't waste your money - they are quite expensive

These are great! Best feature they are upside down so doesn't cover shelf with ground up bits of salt and pepper Nice pale grey for salt looks lovely with pink salt!

This is a twist open from where the glass meets the plastic, you open it, insert the correct media and then anticlockwise to re-screw it back on.
