Egg poacher
Great little egg poacher and great boiled eggs could do with a timer

Don't bother
disappointing. Had the Swan version several times over the years, this is not comparable in anyway. this one doesn't beep when the eggs are done, it is a very vague measure for the water and overcooks everytime so far. it feels flimsy, truly disappointing. And only 2 poached eggs at a time. I should have returned it.

So convenient
This is one of the best appliances I have purchased. I am thrilled that I can have my eggs cooking whilst having a shower in the mornings, without having to stand over the hob. Either poached or boiled without the washing up of saucepans or frying pans.

Hello Dino.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the Salter Aspen Egg Steamer.
To pierce the egg, please use the egg piercing pin provided with the Salter Aspen Egg Steamer. This pin is typically located on the underside of the measuring cup that comes with your egg steamer. Simply place the pointed end (narrow end) of the egg onto the pin and gently press down to make a small hole. This simple step helps prevent the eggs from cracking during steaming.

Salter Aspen Egg Steamer
Having checked I can see this does not have a timer. There are measuring cups with the precise level of water to be added for the desired consistency. Once the water has evaporated the steamer will automatically turn off.
