Much better than my previous unit
Read about moisture from laundry & bought another brand from middle of a supermarket. It was poor & I returned it. Bought this instead (more ££) but the quality is obvious. It works very well & construction clearly superior.

Can't complain. Everything you might need.
We've had this a couple of months now, works very well. Fills the tank up every couple of days. I find I don't need it on all the time as it gets our small flat down to 55% fairly quickly. Haven't found it has hiked our electric bill either. Also helps it's not too much of an eyesore. Compact and still does a great job in the corner of the room. Very easy to work only a few functions, and displays the current humidity.

For purifying air it needs a hepa filter fitted. Note that it is optional and it will still work as a dehumidifier without. If the hepa filter is fitted it will purify and dehumidify at the same time. If you wish there is a function for just air purification. I believe this is with summer months in mind when dehumidifying is less of a need.

Thank you for using Q&A
Hello Mad Maggie,
For the Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier.
The instruction manual states: ''Replacing the HEPA filter.
The dehumidifier comes with a H13 HEPA filter. This HEPA filter can be inserted into the dehumidifier to enable air purification, however this is optional - the dehumidifier can be used without the HEPA filter, this means it will dehumidify the air only and not purify it.
Although we do highly recommend using the dehumidifier with a HEPA filter, if you would like a quieter unit, removing the HEPA filter will reduce the noise level by 4-5 decibels.
• The HEPA filter is not life-long and must be replaced when the colour changes from white to grey (it depends on the environment the dehumidifier is being used in but the HEPA filter will need replacing roughly every 3 months).
• The HEPA filter can be hoovered every so often to remove any dust or dirt.
• To insert/replace the HEPA filter place it inside the combined filter case and dust filter, then slide the combined filter case and dust filter into the dehumidifier.
• Replacement HEPA filters can be purchased from Meaco.''

Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Cathy,
The supplier has advised the following for the Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier:
"Assuming you are asking about the HEPA filter in the Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier, it is designed to retain 99.75% of particles as small as 0.3 micrometers in diameter. This includes common airborne impurities such as dust, pollen, pet dander, and other fine particles."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Polo,
Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier
We strongly recommend direct wall plugging to avoid overheating, fire risk, and potential internal damage, as extension cords can struggle with the power draw of dehumidifiers. If you must use one, ensure it's rated for the appliance, grounded (3-prong), in excellent shape, and avoid surge protectors.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello beebee,
Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier
The Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier is generally considered safe for use in a baby bedroom. It is designed to be quiet and energy-efficient, making it suitable for damp areas and helping to reduce moisture and allergens in the air. However, it's always best to monitor the air quality and ensure that the device is not too close to sleeping areas, as some may prefer to keep it further away from babies for safety reasons. Overall, it is a well-reviewed product that can effectively manage humidity and improve indoor air quality.
Thank you.
Hello Chrissy,
I can advise the following for the Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier:
Apologies, this doesn't have a handle.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Was just a bonus to have that happen
Hey Deni,
I can advise that this dehumidifier is not designed to heat up the room, however the dried air is passed over heating coils before
it is blown into the room as part of the dehumidification process.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Once it has reached the desired humidity it stops but the display stays on, it then re checks the humidity every 20 mins or so. So it doesnt continually run.
Hello,
The Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier does not have a set time for operation; it operates continuously without a specific end time.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello Ivani P,
Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier
The water tank holds 2.5 litres, but the frequency it needs to be emptied will depend on the humidity of the room; For dry rooms, it will need to be emptied less often than humid rooms.
Thanks for using Q&A
