Poor Quality and Reliability
I moved over from Sennhieser based off review siting quality ANC and sound. These headphones are great, when they work. My orignial pair had to be repaied twice, within the 1 year gaurentee for similar issues. Sony provided a replacment when they failed for a 3rd time. The replacment headphones lasted 8 months before failing on a well documented popping issue with the ANC. Sent in for repair and Sony said I would need to pay for the repair. After a frustratrated email reply Sony carried out the repair free of charge. These headphone clearly have quality control and design issues that were not fixed in developmenent or manufacturing. For a premium headphone they arn't even very solid being prodomenmtly plastic and with no IP rating at all. Save your money and buy a brand like Sennhieser.

I've had this headphones for about a month. The headphone is beautifully designed and the sound sound quality is next to none. I love the touch and noise cancelling features. However, it leaks outside noise when you turn your head to the right.

Beautiful design, unbeatable ANC and microphone
The design of these Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones is absolutely beautiful — the Smoky Pink colour is elegant, muted and unique. It’s not overly pink, just a chic, soft tone that looks luxurious and minimal. Every time I wear them, I get compliments. Sound and ANC are outstanding — genuinely the best I’ve experienced. I used them on a 9-hour flight and couldn’t hear a thing. The adaptive noise control and “speak-to-chat” feature are brilliant for commuting and office use. The touch controls work perfectly (no accidental taps) and the ability to connect to multiple devices is seamless. Comfort-wise, they’re incredibly lightweight with soft memory-foam cushions — I’ve worn them 12+ hours straight with zero pressure or fatigue. They fit both small and larger heads comfortably without slipping or clamping too tight. They don’t fold like older models, but they sit flat in the case and travel well. Personally, not an issue — I prefer the slimmer, flatter case. Build quality feels solid despite being lightweight, and the mic performance is crystal clear even in wind. In short: stunning design, phenomenal ANC, comfortable beyond expectation, and worth every penny.

Quality headphones !
I am very pleased with my new headphones ! The sound quality is excellent. I also want say that these headphones do not have those horrible creaking noises you get with cheaper poor quality headphones when you move your head around, which is wonderful.

Decent performance but uncomfortable and fragile.
Noise cancelling is great, sound quality is decent once you've tweaked it with the EQ on the app. Headband is uncomfortable after about 30 mins and the hinges feel really delicate. Lots of users reporting quality issues with headband padding, too.
